The Coast Guard Station Alabaster is one of the oldest in the area and was built on land that once belonged to the Covington family. The Coast Guard Station is located on US 19 near the mouth of Muskogee River. The station provides law enforcement and emergency services for residents in Alabaster, Eagle Ford County, Butler County, Morgan County and parts of Jefferson County. The station also offers a variety of recreational opportunities such as fishing, boating, hiking and camping. In partnership with Gulf Wildlife Foundation, the coast guard has installed new signs along US 19 telling motorists about hurricane-prone areas that are open for swimming or birding season; these areas include much of east Alabama including Muscle Shoals National Laboratory where Obama made her first official visit as President Barack Obama’s Vice Presidential candidate on September 17th!

He found many small crystal-clear alabaster crystals and referred to them as "alabandite." A few years later, another man explored the area and found even more alabaster rocks. By 1830, Alabaster had become an important center for mining and trade in central Alabama. Alabaster has been hosts to art exhibitions, music festivals, and other events since it began to be developed as a tourist destination. Visitors can visit the local stores and galleries where they can find many different types of rock art including human heads, animals, symbols of anger or love, and more. From its inception, the Coast Guard has been dedicated to providing humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. In 1923, the Coast Guard introduced a gift program in order to commemorate members’ accomplishments and raise money for charity. Beginning with gifts of $5 or less, members were able to send a awareness message to their communities and friends. In 1948, the Coast Guard started a gift program that allowed officers and enlisted members to collect personalized items from local businesses. This program continued until 1984 when it was discontinued due to budgetary constraints. Since its inception, the Coast Guard has collected over 400 million pounds of donated goods and services totaling over $2 billion dollars. The proceeds from this donation have been used for programs such as education, flood relief, cancer research, veterans’ benefits and more. In addition to donations from individuals and businesses, the Coast Guard also receives funding through consignment sales which allows member organizations to sell surplus items from time-to-time. These sales allow for the accumulation ofabilia that can be displayed in museum exhibitions or used by member organizations as fundraising tools!

Alabaster is a town in Jefferson County, Alabama, United States. The population was 2,811 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1836 and named for Alabaster (now alabaster) Township in Clay County. In 1849, the Armistice Treaty ended the American Civil War and General Robert E. Lee's army passed through Alabaster on its way to Petersburg. The town ceased to exist as a municipality when it was consolidated with neighboring Muscle Shoals in 1901. The first post office in Alabaster was established in 1836 and changed its name to Armisticeville in 1848 due to the war. The first store opened in 1840. There were only 10 people living here when it came into being but by 1850 there were over 100 people living here because of cotton plantations that had been developed nearby. Alabaster began serving as an industrial center because of its location close to major railroad lines and its access to water resources. By 1901, most of the production had stopped but some businesses still remain such as textile mills and a sawmill until they closed around 2000-2001 due to new technology advancements which made manufacturing more efficient than ever before
