By 1970, there were six squad cars and twelve officers working for the department. By 2000, crime rates in Pleasant Grove had decreased by 50%, while population growth had increased by over 100%. That same year saw the inauguration of Mayor Tom Greenlaw and Police Chief Donnie Hardin as members of the Board of Commissioners. Since then, crime rates have continued to decrease while population growth has continued to increase in Pleasant Grove; both trends are continuing into today! Today, there are over 120 officers working for the Pleasant Grove PD Department – making it one of America’s largest!

Pleasant Grove is a small town in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, United States. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Birmingham-Tuscaloosa Metropolitan Statistical Area. Pleasant Grove is located on US 64 just north of the Mobile River and east of historic downtown Tuscaloosa. The town was organized in 1892 by John H. Goodyear as a post office called "Pleasant Grove". The name was changed to "Pleasant Hill" in 1907 and again to "Pleasant Grove" in 1924. The present name honors General James Gadsden's wife and daughter, who were both named Anna Belle Pleasant. After the death of General Gadsden, his widow requested that he be buried in her hometown of Gainesville, Florida so that Gainesville citizens might also honor him there with a national cemetery plot. When she died in 1930, Anna Belle Pleasant was interred there with her husband and father-in-law Sr.. In 1938, after another Change of Name for the Post Office (from "Gainesville") due to government reorganization which affected all rural areas within Tuscaloosa County except for those near Montgomeryville and Cullman), Pleasant Grove reverted back to its original name: "Pleasant Hills". In 1957, after many years of effort by local citizens and their school board members led by Mrs. Lillie Bicknell (1910-2006)], when US Highway 4 Alternate came through town from west to east it bypassed it completely leaving only two streets remaining - Main Street & Smith Road - which became known as 'Old Main Street' & 'New Main Street'. After Mrs. Bicknell's passing away (she had been Principal at Parkview Elementary School from 1954 until her retirement in 2006) most residents moved out onto Old Main Street themselves as it remained their primary routes into/out of town until recent changes with construction on I-5 mainline lead traffic once more routing along Smith Road into town center - making 'Old MainStreet' redundant leading up until today when both Streets have reemerged as one street again housing both businesses & residences while also serving as an important link between downtown &MainStreet via a short side street called 'Southside Avenue'. In addition to its rich history; other things that make Pleasant Grove unique include: being home to several large schools including Parkview High School where currently over 1500 students attend class full time or part time; McCrary Middle School which teaches grades 6 thru 12; Springdale Christian Academy which offers PreKindergarten through 8th grade classes starting September 2009; Morningside Baptist Church located just off main street which provides worship services for locals & visitors during worship hours ONLY! ೋೇಾೂ༗

Pleasant Grove is a small town in Jefferson County, Alabama, United States. The population was 3,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Birmingham metropolitan area. The first settlers in Pleasant Grove were Methodist missionaries who arrived from Tennessee in 1838. A Baptist chapel was built in 1840 and named after the Pleasant Grove Meeting House which had been destroyed by a fire two years earlier. In 1845, a post office was established at Pleasant Grove and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907. In 1865, Pleasant Grove became the seat of Jefferson County when it was created from parts of Montgomery and Rosedale counties. The courthouse located on Third Street served as the county seat until 1901 when Uniontown became the new courthouse and county seat. During World War II, many residents helped provide food for troops stationed overseas. One resident, Mrs. Evalyn Witherspoon (1896-1978), cooked over 100 meals for service members during World War II and received an award from President Franklin D Roosevelt for her excellence in catering services to military personnel and their families. After the war, many citizens resumed their normal activities but some newcomers began arriving to take advantage of easy access to water resources that were becoming more available due to development around town such as New Hope Mills shopping center and White Castle restaurants near Interstate 5 exit 148B (Station Road). It wasn't until 1954 that a school opened up at what is now known as Town Hall Square which eventually became home to several high schools including Vestavia Hills High School and Mountain Brook Middle School before being closed down in 2006 following school closures across much of southern Alabama due to state budget cuts prior to Hurricane Katrina hitting Louisiana causing widespread damage across southeastern Alabama including much of Pleasant Grove also making it difficult for many residents within its boundaries to return home after so much devastation occurred within its borders less than 48 hours after landfall) . Afterward most residents chose either relocate or move away completely through various relocation processes such as job postings online or word-of-mouth efforts with few people actually returning home because they lacked rebuild options or could afford them given all that had happened since then both physically within town limits too+and emotionally+ since communities like Vestavia Hills HS & Mtn Brook MD lost entire staffs during Katrina Dumas Rd @ I-5 exit 149A reopened briefly as local Blvd w/ groceries only lasted 2 hrs before closing again no electricity so grid went down
Pleasant Grove was founded in 1811. The population of Pleasant Grove at the time was only six people. In 1831, a group of farmers came to Pleasant Grove and decided to start a school. They named the school "Pleasant Grove Academy." In 1865, the first post office was established in Pleasant Grove. The town had a population of around 100 people. By 1890, the population had increased to around 350 people. In 1911, the town passed an ordinance establishing fire insurance for residents. The town also passed an ordinance providing for public safety and prohibiting any form of fighting or violence between citizens.
