Arkadelphia is a city in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 27,564 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Pulaski County. The city was founded in 1881 by white men from Illinois and Missouri who named it after the biblical Ark of Covenant which they had seen in a wagon stop on their way to a cattle drive. The first coffee shop in Arkadelphia opened its doors on Main Street in 1886. In 1907, J.L. White Coffee & Tea opened the first modern grocery store in town and began serving Arkadelphia residents as well as people traveling through the area on business trips. In 1912, White reopened his store under the new name of J&J's Coffee Shop & Restaurant and it remains one of the most popular tourist destinations today for coffee fans from all over the world. In 1937, Artisan Coffee Company was established in Arkadelphia by local entrepreneurs John Pugsley and Earle McNeal with assistance from American Coffee Export Corporation (AEC). The company became known for its unique roast style - medium-dark roast - which has been kept unchanged ever since. Artisan Coffee now operates 10 cafes throughout Arkansas and Mississippi with more than 1,500 customer support representatives across 30 countries!

Arkadelphia is a town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,693 at the 2010 census. Arkadelphia is the county seat of Pulaski County. It lies on the Arkansas River and is bordered by Union City to the north and east, Centreville to the south, and Wynne to the west. The first settler in what would become Arkadelphia was Nicholas Dickey in 1819. He purchased land from John Lewis for $4 per acre. Over time, other settlers followed suit and by 1836 there were over 100 people living in Arkadelphia. In 1859, general Nathan Bedford Forrest created Pulaski County from parts of Johnson and Pulaski Counties. Part of Forrest's plan called for Fort Pillow (later Fort Smith) to be located at what is now Arkadelphia; however, because of flooding during the Great Flood of 1862, this never occurred. In 1865 Captain James Fenton purchased land adjacent to what would become Arkadelphia from Nicholas Dickey for $10 per acre This land became known as Fenton's Field because it lay directly across the Arkansas River from where many earlyArkendale residents built their homes The city limits were established around this area in 1907 when Aransas Borough was organized . The name change comes about due to a ballot question passed by voters asking if they should move their government from Union City to Aransas Borough . Arkadelphia experienced some growth during World War II as many people left for war jobs opportunities overseas By 1950 there were over 2,500 people living in Arkadelphia with a total income of $41 million . However , although post-war growth continued into the 1960s and 1970s it faded slightly due primarily to demographic changes such as an increase in Hispanic populations which had replaced African Americans who had originally inhabited much of central Arkansas In recent years there has been a slight revival with several new businesses starting up including one that provides housing developments called "The Village" which offers apartments or condos above ground parking

According to the United States Census Bureau, Arkadelphia has a total area of , all of it land.
