Gourmet coffee has been around since the 1800s. Coffee beans are roasted in a variety of ways and brought to market under a variety of names. The first gourmet coffee was brewed in Bella Vista, Arkansas, in 1892 by John Fenton and his friends. Over time, different roasters have become associated with specific areas or towns in Arkansas. These roastings often reflect the flavor profile or atmosphere of that town or region. In 1992, John Fenton founded Bella Vista Coffee Company and named it after his home town of Bella Vista, Arkansas. At that time, there were only a few coffee shops in the area and most people bought their coffee from local grocery stores. In 2001, Bella Vista Coffee Company merged with another small company to form Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Incorporated (GMCR). GMCR is one of the largest roasters in the United States and located throughout New England, Midwest USA and South America. Some of GMCR's famous brands include Ethiopia Meritash Ethiopian Kaffir Liqueur, Bolivian East Timor Liqueur®, Guatemalan Antioquia Liqueur*, Nicaraguan Honduras Liqueur* & Colombian San Andrés Lightroast*. At present, GMCR produces over 60 different types of coffee products including two-year-old beans which are still roasted fresh each morning on site at our manufacturing facility adjacent to Little Rock International Airport. We continue to develop our product line as we learn more about how to perfect every aspect of our coffees - from bean selection to brewing methodologies to packaging design - so that each cup delivers an amazing taste experience like no other!

Bella Vista coffee was first roasted in 1906 by a Mr. W.J. Hargrave and his partners on a small farm near the city of Hot Springs. The beans were roasted in an open-air roaster with wood chips they gathered from the surrounding forests. By 1916, Bella Vista Coffee had become one of the largest coffee companies in Arkansas and produced over 1,500 bagels per year for the state's stores and restaurants. In 1919, Harry Aiken became president of Bella Vista Coffee and led the company through its most significant period of growth and expansion until his death in 1948. In 1951, Harry Aiken's widow began working at Bella Vista Coffee as General Manager under her husband's supervision; she would later serve as CEO until her retirement in 2002. Under her leadership, Bella Vista Coffee continued to grow both commercially and operationally through acquisitions such as Next Generation Roasters (NGR) in 1994; White & Blue Bagel Co., Inc. (W&B) in 1998; and First National Corporation (FNC) in 2001 which made it one of the leading coffee companies within its industry nationally. In 2003, Bella Vista Coffee purchased Jabberwocky Roasters out of bankruptcy proceedings for a reported $4 million dollars which increased their production capacity by 50%. In 2007, NGR merged with Starbucks Corporation giving them a combined market share of 16% across all coffeeshops throughout Arkansas alone - making Bella Vista one of the top ranked coffee companies within their industry nationally!
Bella Vista is a small town located in Pulaski County, Arkansas. The population was 794 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Little Rock-North Little Rock-Conway metropolitan area. Bella Vista is bordered by North Little Rock to the north, Conway to the south, and Iraq and Syria to the west. The first settler in Bella Vista was Horace Hixon in 1875. He built a cabin on his farmstead which still stands today. Others who came later include John Denton in 1887, A.J. Bogle in 1907, J.C. Williamson in 1912, and Fannie Beattie in 1916. All of these people brought their families with them when they moved into Bella Vista from other parts of Pulaski County or Arkansas for various reasons such as agricultural opportunities or businesses that were opening up thereabouts during that time period (Hixon did not). In 1925th Wm Baughman set up a cotton gin and found success with it; he became one of the early settlers hereabouts and continued operations until his death in 1978 (Baughman was also an early mayor of Bella Vista). After World War II ended, many farmers left farming due to changes occurring within the economy both domestically and abroad; however, some stayed around because they had connections to friends or family members who still worked on farms elsewhere (Bella Vista’s post office operated continuously until 1957). In 1951 Robert Fenton opened a feed store hereabouts after moving from Searcy; this business continues today as Bob’s Feed Store LLC (Fenton was also an early president/owner/director thereof). Many people who lived hereabouts through those years have gone on to successful careers outside pulp milling including Bill White (manager/chief engineer at Alcoa) and Don Reeves (owner/director at Mobil Oil Refineries Inc.). Today's population includes more than seventy five percent citizens descended from those original seven pioneer families who started living hereabouts back then! Bella Vista is a town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1907 by Major John C. Bell and his wife Lillie Belle Smith on what is now the Bella Vista-Lincoln Highway. In 1912, Bell organized the first all-white school district in Pulaski County. The town was destroyed by a fire in 1942, but was rebuilt two years later. The current name of Bella Vista comes from an old plantation name called "Belle Vista". In 1960, Bella Vista became the first municipality to be established within the Pulaski County School District #1. In 1978, Bella Vista became home to the Arkansas Junior College baseball team which played its first game at that location until 1984 when it moved to Piney Woods Park near Hot Springs. In 2000, under new leadership and with support from private donors and local businesses including Walmart and IBM,[2] Bella Vista opened its own high school which remains open today as Westview High School (formerly known as White Sands Jr./Sr.). With revenues generated from various events hosted at Westview High School (e.g., pep rallies for Little League teams or dances celebrating senior year),[3] much of which goes towards supporting education programs for students at nearby Little Rock Central High School,[4] Bella Vista has been one of most active towns in Pulaski County both economically and socially over the years - serving as a role model for other small towns throughout Arkansaw Valley.[5]
The town of Bella Vista was founded in 1871 by J.P. Stephenson, a surveyor. The first store was built on the current site of the Bella Vista Elementary School in 1872. In 1893, the town was platted and named for Baroness Berenice de Rothschild, daughter of banker Meyer Rothschild. It became an incorporated municipality in 1907. Bella Vista had a population of 624 people as of 2010. The economy is based on agriculture and ranching.
