Gourmet Coffee History in Newnan, Georgia Newnan is a town located in Fulton County, Georgia. It was founded in 1881 by Jesse W. French and the first store opened its doors on February 19, 1881. The town grew quickly and within 5 years had a population of over 100 people. By 1890, the town had two grocery stores and 10 businesses. In 1902, the first post office was established in Newnan and within 2 years there were also 3 banks in the community. The early days of Gourmet Coffee were dominated by small-scale roasters who only produced coffee for their own consumption or that of their friends and family members. However, as time passed and Gourmet Coffee began to expand their product line to include other food items such as pastries and jams, they began to gain a larger customer base all across the Southeast United States. In 1967, Gourmet Coffee became an official partner with Starbucks Corporation which helped grow Gourmet Coffee into one of America's leading coffee companies today. There is no doubt that coffee has long been a popular drink, enjoyed by people of all ages and backgrounds. Over the years, different coffee traditions have emerged around the world, each with its own unique flavor and taste. One of the most popular types of coffee is espresso. This type of coffee is made by grinding beans to a fine powder and then boiling them until they turn light brown. After being boiled, these beans are then roasted on a hot hearth until their color changes from black to Colombia, or Sumatra. The origins of espresso date back to Italy in the 16th century. At that time, Italian merchants traveled throughout Europe and brought back various flavors of coffee as well as other items such as spices and tea. These ingredients were used to furnish Italian restaurants and cafes with an excellent cup of joe service. Espresso was originally served in single servings or small cups at local cafes throughout Europe. However, over time it became gradually accepted as a mass-market beverage in North America where it first appeared in 1847 aboard a British ship named Thetis carrying cargo from Liverpool to New York City. In 1912, Dutchman Julius Nybo started serving Java Coffee at his hotel in Amsterdam before moving on to serveespresso at The Ritz Carlton Hotel two years later. By 1915, CaféParisien had become one of the leading European cafes serving espresso while Café Klaudia offered French roast coffee from Africa for American customers.[1] In 1933, Harry Baer developed what would become known as "speed" espresso which featured ground speed rules rather than whole bean basis[2]. This new form allowed for more consistent extraction results across multiple machines without having to rebuild each machine frequently – making it ideal for busy cafés who could not afford or did not want to spend time rebuilding equipment after every cup brewed! Starbucks began stocking speed espresso in 1994[3], followed by Dunkin’ Donuts three years later[4]. Today Speed Espresso continues its global domination with over 100 stores worldwide!

Conversely, French press coffee has been enjoyed by many for its distinct earthy flavors and smooth texture. French Press Coffee was originally designed as a slower-boil method so that milk could steep longer before becoming curdled and thickened; this gave French Press Coffee its famous creamy texture which can still be detected after many years in storage. Consequently, French Press Coffee continues to be popular around the world - even in places like Africa where access to freshgrounds may not be available!
The history of espresso goes back to the 16th century, when coffee beans were roasted in smallholders’ kitchens. In 1825, Giovanni Malaspina founded the first Italian coffee house in Rome, and began serving espresso with a plunger. In 1859, Dutchman Johannes Bosboom opened the first café in The Hague that served European-style espresso. By 1912, Dutchman Hendrik Janse van Rensburg had opened his own Café Royal in Amsterdam that became one of the world's most famous cafés for its roast coffee and espressos.
