On November 25, 1959, the USS Missouri again became a part of the Pacific Fleet and served as flagship for Admiral Harry S. Truman during his visit to Japan. On February 13, 1960, Vice Admiral John Halsey assumed command of the Pacific Fleet and placedUSS Missouri in reserve at Yokosuka Naval Base in Japan as flagship for Commander-in-Chief Marine Forces Western Area (CMCWAN). Post Falls, Idaho is a town in eastern Idaho, United States. Post Falls is located on the Snake River, at an elevation of 678 feet (193 m). The population was 3,859 at the 2010 census. There are two post offices in Post Falls: Post Falls and Centerville. The firstpost office opened in 1887. It was moved to its present location in 1907. The first telephone service was offered through Bell Telephone Company in 1911. In 1933, the community became part of the Social Security Administration area and included all of south central Idaho as well as parts of Oregon and Washington state. In 1946, it become part of the newly created Adams County until 1959 when it was added to White Cloud County by order of President Harry Truman because the county seat had been moved from Slagel to Post Falls several times over the years. The name "Post Falls" originated with General George Armstrong Custer's staff during his 1876 campaign for Congress from this region; he called his new headquarters "Centerville" due to his belief that only a small town could provide effective military support for a large city like Chicago during wartime. After losing his election bid to Congressman John Mclntyre (D), Custer named his new Headquarters "Post Falls" after reaching out for help from residents who had gathered around him on July 4th while he camped near what is now Centerville Reservoir on federal land west of townsite on US-2 approximately one mile northwest of present day Centerville Elementary School off US-2 just east (north)of present day Main Street within today's boundaries Of present day Centerville City limits

This order led to Japan attacking Pearl Harbor resulting in over 2 thousand casualties plus damage done to many ships including USS Missouri (BB-38). On 15 December 1941 USS Alabama sailed into Pearl Harbor waters with Task Unit 41½ consisting of four battleships: BB-63 (USS Intrepid), Zouave PG(USA), Fusilier PG(USA), Enterprise CG(USA) .
