Today, small batch Coffee is often used as a way to experiment with new flavors, techniques and ingredients. There are many reasons why Smallbatch Coffee is so popular today. For one, it gives brewers the chance to create their own unique flavor profiles without having to rely on other sources. Crestwood is a town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,683 at the 2010 census. Crestwood is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The history of Crestwood goes back to 1836 when it was known as "Newcastle." In 1881, the name was changed to "Crestwood" after its founder, Colonel John A. Crestwood. In 1907, Crestwood became a village and in 1951 it became an incorporated town. The population of Crestwood grew rapidly from just over 1,000 in 1960 to over 3,500 by 1990. Located on the banks of the Fox River near Interstate 55 and State Street (Route 56), Crestwood has become one of the most popular communities in Cook County for retirement and family living purposes. In 2006-2007 there were many controversies around a proposed development called "Homes for All," which would have been located on land that once belonged to Colonel John A. Crestwood's estate next to his home on State Street (Route 56). This property had been used by residents of Crestwoods since before it was annexed into Village form in 1951 and prior to that it had been used as pastureland by local farmers until 1957 when it became part of Ridgefield Township where much more recent development had taken place including Sears Tower and other large buildings that now dominate the skyline of Ridgefield Village which also includes luxury apartments built by real estate magnate Dick DeVos who also owns Amway Center which is located adjacent to Home For All housing developments - both projects are controversial because they will impact negatively upon some longtime residents while providing vast new opportunities for developers and those who own or control those properties such as Dick DeVos whose Palace Of Fine Arts sitsadjacenttoRidgefieldVillage
Crestwood was founded in 1837 by Ebenezer Crestwood and his wife. The Crestwoods ran a mill and store in the town until they sold it to John A. McClintic in 1865. McClintic built the first school in Crestwood, which he taught himself to teach. In 1868, McClintic bought out his partner, John A. Clements, and continued to run the business alone until 1886 when he bought out George W. Fenton who had been running the business for over twenty years. From then on, the Fenton's ran the business as a partnership for many years until it was bought by their son-in-law Charles Haddon in 1916. The last owner of the Business was their daughter Mildred Haddon from 1961-1981.
