Carmel, Indiana is known as the "City of Lakes" for its many lakes and reservoirs. The city was founded in 1836 by French Canadians and is home to the world's first military base, Fort Dearborn. The brigade has since beenVDI's primary land forces presence in central Indiana with deployments throughout Southwest Indiana and all of Michigan. Today, 1st Cavalry Brigade continues its proud service history by deploying gifts to soldiers stationed overseas both at Ft Carson Air Force Base Colorado Springs CO where it provides law enforcement support through Operation Noble Eagle and also Kuwait where it supports Operation Iraqi Freedom. Additionally continued deployments have occurred at Fayetteville Armory Arkansas where it services Army Reserve troops as well as Dover Delaware specifically for US Marines Corps Recruitment exercises Since 1961 we've been sending Soldiers Home with a Smile!
