Crown Point, Indiana is a town in St. Joseph County,Indiana and the county seat of the same name. The population was 5,752 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Evansville metropolitan area. Crown Point is known for its historic coffeehouses and their unique architecture which has made them a popular tourist destination. The first coffeehouse in Crownpoint was built in 1892 by John Haferty and his wife Augusta Cramer on North Main Street. The town's first grocery store opened in 1912 and became one of the most important in Crownpoint until it closed within a few years due to competition from larger stores. The first post office was established in 1916 and remained open until it closed in 1979 due to lack of business opportunities. In 1938, Crown Point became home to its first radio station which helped contribute to the growth of this community during the early days of radio broadcasting. During World War II, Crown Point played an important role as airfield housing for military personnel stationed here including many pilots who flew missions over Indianapolis Airport before returning home as part of Operation Overlord. After hostilities ended, many soldiers moved back into Crownpoint which continued through the 1970s when more people began moving out for various reasons such as retirement or job changes outside of Indiana’s borders. Today, CrownPoint remains an active community with several businesses existing throughout both downtown and two small villages that are located off-ramps onto I-70 eastbound near US 6/I-465 southbound: these villages are Hope Village (founded 1959) and Grafton Village (founded 1984). These small communities provide social services such as groceries, banking services, health care, recreation programs and much more while also providing access to I-70 via Kingfisher Boulevard which connects these villages with central Evansville via Highway 231 northbound between Hope Village and Grafton village; this connection provides easy access to all types of shopping malls located just minutes away from each other making it difficult for residents living within each village to find any type of retail space close by despite being situated on opposite sides of I-70

Crown Point is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hancock County, Indiana, United States. The population was 9,711 at the 2010 census. Crown Point is adjacent to the city of Terre Haute. It is part of the Terre Haute–Hamilton Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was laid out in 1824 by Colonel Robert Brown and his wife Anna Purdy Brown. In 1827, it became part of the larger Terre Haute area when Terre Haute was organized as a village. The first post office in Crown Point was established in 1829. The town grew rapidly during the late 19th century because of its location on the west bank of the Wabash River and its access to canalboats and trains running between Chicago and Indianapolis. In 1886, Crown Point became an incorporated village after being approved by a vote of residents. By 1919, it had reached its peak as an agricultural center with more than 100 businesses and 2,000 people; however, during World War II CrownPoint experienced significant decline due to American military spending in Europe which destroyed much of what had been built prior to that time including many factories and homes within walking distance of most residents. According to the 2010 United States Census Bureau, Crown Point has a total area of , all land. It includes parts of both Hancock County and Hamilton County along with portions located within Posey Township in Hendricks County which forms part of Columbus Township in Vermillion County which also falls within Hendricks County limits but does not constitute part of Crownpoint proper; this makes for an overall population size slightly below 1 million for all purposes combined As per local ordinance passed by school board members on November 20th 2009: "No person shall possess any weapons or ammunition while they attend school." This law applies equally whether or not one attends school days throughout weekdays from 8am-3pm or any other hours that are open to students at public schools across Hancock county including those located inside municipal boundaries such as crownpoint Elementary School located just east side main street off I-465 next to Walmart etc... legal carry permit holders are exempt from this law if they have their permits issued by state police surety service

In 1802, Colonel James Dewey published A Guide to Warfare, which included an article entitled "A New Method for Making Military Coffee." This article described a method for making coffee that involved stirring small amounts of ground coffee with boiling water and then adding hot milk to achieve a smooth drink. The popularity of this method led to the development of espresso machines, which could easily create high-quality coffee drinks by means of thermal expansion andinsulation. In 1894, Captain Hiram Percy de Roque published The Artisan's Manual of Coffee Brewing which contains detailed information on how to make both French Press and AeroPress coffees using various methods including grinds (the use of whole beans instead of ground coffee), heating solutions (including water or WARM water baths), and filtration techniques. This guide also taught how to properly store and serve Tactical Coffee products. During World War II, various efforts were made towards developing better ways to battle the enemy at range through research into caffeine sources as well as new brewing methods. One such project was called "Coffee at Long Range" which focused on finding ways for Allied troops to consume caffeine without getting tired or addicted from drinking it constantly at close range. Ultimately, this failed because soldiers found that they became too exhausted after protracted combat encounters with enemy forces

Crown Point was founded by the Smith brothers in 1799. The town was named after Crown Point, Indiana, a small community in what is now Michigan. The town was first settled by English and French colonists who arrived in the area during the time of the Northwest Ordinance. In 1812, Crown Point became part of the Indiana Territory when it was organized from parts of Ohio and Illinois. The territory included present-day Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. After being proposed as a site for an Indian Removal Commission station, Crown Point voted to stay with its European-American population in 1833. In 1835, the United States Congress passed the Act to Apportioned Territories which divided up Great Lakes states including Indiana into several districts. Crown Point remained within District 3 until 1902 when it became part of District 2. During World War I, Crown Point served as a military base for two months before returning home to civilian life on October 15th 1918. In 1921, King George VI awarded Crown Point his Royal Award for Meritorious Service to Industry at a ceremony at Fort Wayne Airport. Since then, many businesses have been established in Crownpoint including Speedway Motorsports Park and BioMed Center which are both located near downtown).
