When Kokomo was founded in 1868, coffee beans were not yet a common commodity. The first location on the current site of Kokomo was a post office and store. In 1886, the first Kokomo Coffee Roasters opened their doors. Today, there are over twenty-five Kokomo Coffee Roasters with locations throughout the United States. The Kokomo Coffee Company was founded in 1892. The company grew rapidly and soon had a large inventory of beans. In 1904, the company moved to its present location on First Street in Kokomo. The first store was small and used only coffee beans from their farm. Over time, the store became larger and more popular. In 1916, the company merged with another coffee company and became the Kokomo Coffee Corporation. This company continued to grow and expand their product line until it finally folded in 1949.
Kokomo, Indiana is a small town in central Indiana. The population was 7,501 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Kosciusko County. Kokomo was founded in 1866 by David J. Kokomo and named for his father, John Kokomo. The city's first post office opened in 1872. The present downtown area of Kokomo was built between 1907 and 1912 on land that had been donated to the city by local farmers. The original City Hall building, which still stands in downtown Kokomo, was designed by architect George Pemberton Hecht and built at a cost of $8,500. In 1911, the city government merged with neighboring Terre Haute to form the consolidated city of Kokomo-Terre Haute-Kosciusko County. In 1952, when Kosciusko County became a part of the United Statesneredom after World War II, Kokomo became its capital and continued to serve as the county seat until it moved to Indianapolis in 1984. In 2002, following changes made to Indiana's municipal law by then Governor Mitch Daniels (then a Republican), citizens approved Measure 2 (the "Daniels Amendment"), which provided for voting representation for Metro Detroit residents on Kokomo's school board beginning with term beginning July 1st 2006; this vote followed years of discussion over how best to deal with an increasing number of minority residents living near metropolitan Indianapolis without having their voices heard within their own communities. As such, Measure 2 effectively ended white majority control over both the officeholder at the top—the School Boardmember—and all elected positions subordinate thereto within Hogan Township’s three wards: East Side/Greater Downtown/Northwest Side/Southwest Side/West Side Today what little traditional segregation still exists within these wards is more likely due toskin color alone than any other factor affecting educational opportunities or social integration rates across demographic boundaries; nonetheless measures have been put into place since 2006 specifically targeting east side black students who are disproportionately represented enrollmentally on upper middle classMain Street public schools while white students attending those same schools continue unaffected thereby perpetuating residential segregation
Brewing coffee has been a process for over two hundred years. The first coffee plants were planted in Java in the 16th century and beans were gathered from these plantations by Arab traders. Coffee was then traded between Europe, Asia, and Africa. In 1795, Dutch traders discovered Java and began to cultivate coffee trees. They started small businesses but soon became rich from the trading of coffee beans. In 1820, Italian explorer Amerigo Vespucci discover Tobruk in Libya and knew that there must be a great deal of coffee growing there. He ordered his captain to explore the area further and found huge coffee forests with high-quality beans. After tasting this amazing cup of espresso, he decided that he would like to bring some back to Italy with him so he could introduce this type of coffee to his people. The first commercially produced espresso was made by Antonio Conde at an abandoned convent in Naples in 1796. By 1810, Dunkin’ Donuts had introduced their first commercial espresso machine which allowed them to make large quantities of high quality espresso quickly for their customers. At this time, Starbucks also opened their first store in Seattle’s University District in 1975). Cuphead is one of the earliestknown roasts dating back to 1830 when John Walker developed it as an experiment for making dark roasted coffees without using pre-roasted beans (the best roast)). It is now popular throughout the world due its deep flavor profile and smooth texture

The Kokomo area of Indiana was first settled in the late 18th century. The town was founded by James and Nancy Kokomo, a couple of Iowan farmers who emigrated to the area in 1798. The town grew quickly, and by 1814 it had a population of over 500 people. It became an important stop on the Underground Railroad, and many fugitive slaves passed through Kokomo before reaching freedom in nearby Indianapolis or other destinations. In the early 19th century, Kokomo underwent a major transformation. A number of businesses were established here, including a tannery, brewery, post office, grocery store, and school. However, it was also during this time that Kokomo's famous Shrimp Festival began to take shape. Held annually for several years starting in 1819 (eventually becoming an annual event), the festival featured local shrimp dealers from throughout the area selling their catch of shrimp to attendees. This event helpedkokomobody its reputation as a center for seafood trafficking – something that would continue to play an important role in the town's economy for decades to come. Kokomo eventually achieved city status in 1874 – making it one of the most populous cities in Indiana at that point. In recent decades, however, its importance as a cultural center has waned somewhat; nevertheless, it remains an important part of Indiana history
