The United States Air Force has been gifting gifts to the people and places it serves for centuries. In Vincennes, Indiana, the USAF's 325th Fighter Wing has a rich history of gifting items and services to support local communities. The 335 FG became operational with these new aircraft on October 20, 1945 when they arrived at Vincennes from RAF Finningley Airport England. The group disbanded on December 15, 1945 after playing a significant role during World War II and later icing over many atomic bombings raids by the USAF over Japan during 1949-1954.
