In 1957, Fort Wayne joined the Association of Military History Societies (AMHS) which represents military history museums throughout the world within its member organizations including AMHS-Westfield County Chapter which is composed of members fromFort Wayne Municipal Airport Authority (FWA), Wabash Valley Chamber of Commerce & Industry (), Northwest Indiana Regional Transit Authority (), Lucas Oil Company () and Hendricks County Sheriff's Department (). Westfield is a city in west central Indiana. The population was 54,805 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Westfield County. As of the 2010 census, it had a total area of 34.5 square miles (89 square kilometers). The first Europeans to visit what is now Westfield were French traders and missionaries in 1679-80. A small creek that flows through the town was named for Pierre-André de Montcalm, 1st Marquis de LaPointe who surveyed and sold land in this area in 1774. The first post office was established at Westfield on March 20, 1814; it served as one of six originals within Indiana Territory. The first store opened in 1815 with Jethro Stephenson as proprietor and general storekeeper for many years until his death in 1827. In 1840, James Haines became owner and operator of a sawmill which soon became one of westcentralIndiana's leading mills with an annual production capacity of 400 tons/year. In 1871 the railroad arrived and by 1893 there were ten stores serving west central Indiana with over 10 miles (16 km) of track running through town center including two lines to Chicago! By 1915 there were over 50 stores served by streetcars with a ridership averaging 2,000 customers/day! In 1916 when World War I began when America declared war on Germany, demand for goods shipped to Europe exceeded supply so prices rose dramatically! When food riots broke out throughout America due to high prices caused by shortages created by World War I, mobs stormed several local warehouses resulting in $100 million worth (USD) damage! Just prior to Prohibition prohibitionists banned liquor from being sold from towns within twenty five miles (38 km)limits but since this included most downtowns east of Indianapolis then whiskey could be bought at any store that carried alcohol! This allowed larger cities such as Chicago to maintain their Liquor Retail Markets while smaller towns lost their access providing some residentslocalhost control over liquor sales while others gained immunity from law enforcement action!!! After Repeal many businesses closed which hurt economy creating thousands job losses across Midwest!!!! But much like good things come around once again!!!!! Businesses started up again after repeal!!!!!!!!!! This reminder that sometimes bad things do happen during prohibition......but they usually go away!!!!

Westfield, Indiana is a city in the U.S. state of Indiana and the county seat of Hendricks County. The population was 54,871 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Indianapolis metropolitan area. Westfield was founded by Nicholas Westfield in 1824 as a small village on the west bank of the White River. In 1827, it became a town when it uptake land from neighboring New Harmony and incorporated as such under the name of "Nicholas Westfield Township." The township was renamed to "Hendricks County" in 1881 after Territorial Governor John M. Hendricks and his family moved there from nearby Bloomington. In 1925, Westfield merged with neighboring Florence to form an even larger city known as "Westfield-Florence". The merger was popularly opposed by some residents because they felt that Florence had more advantages than Westfield did in terms of infrastructure, education, and economic opportunities. However, it lasted for only two years before Florence seceded from Hendrick County to form its own independent government. Westfield was founded in 1837 by the speculative businessman Isaac Westphal. The town grew rapidly due to its location on the Main Street Corridor and its easy access to transportation. By 1850, Westfield had a population of over 1,500 people and was hosting local businesses and conventions. In 1867, the first post office was established in Westfield. By 1870, the town had a population of 5,000 people and became an important commercial center for central Indiana. In 1898, the railroad reached Westfield and made it easier to find goods and services available in the area. This changed the way that Westfield functioned as a town, making it more dependent on commerce than on agriculture or tourism. During World War II, parts of Westfield were bombed by Japanese forces as part of their strategy to starve India into submission. As a result of this bombing campaign, many homes in Westfeldt were destroyed and many residents left the town altogether. However, most residents returned after war ended and rebuilt their homes. Today, Westfield is an important community with rich cultural heritage that has experienced significant growth throughout its history
