As the industry has grown more complex and standardized, artisan coffee has come to represent a higher quality product. But how did this unique style of coffee first arise? And where did it begin in Ashland, Kentucky? The origins of artisan coffee can be traced back to 1830 when John Stevens opened his first roasting shop in Ashland. Stevens was an entrepreneur who started out small business making pre-packaged ground coffee for local restaurants and cafes. His success led him to open his own roastery in 1835, which became one of the most successful independently operated roasting shops of its time. At this point, there were only a few small roasters operating within miles of Ashland. The key to Stevens' success was his focus on quality control and creating a high-quality product at an affordable price point. He refused to sell any caffeine over two cents per cup, instead focusing on providing delicious cups of espresso that appealed to locals and tourists alike. This dedication to quality earned him a loyal following among café owners and customers alike. As artisan coffee began becoming popular throughout America, it quickly spread into Europe as well. In 1842, Italian immigrant Antonio Vaccaro opened the first espresso shop in Cincinnati – one of the earliest examples of restaurant service playing an important role in supporting artisanal Coffee production (see: The espresso machine). This influx of new immigrants helped support the growth of the industry while alsobringingovespecial attentiontothequalityofcoffeebeansandtheimportanceofartisanalproduction。 Additionally, Italian immigrants brought their love for fine cuisine with them when they moved north – resulting in some world-renowned restaurants such as La Scala (in Milan) or Berlusconi's Focaccia (in Rome) opening up shop serving exquisitePistoletos al Latte (pasta with eggs) made from whole milk sourced from cows around Rome – all produced under tight supervision by expert craftsmen using only premium European beans! These restaurants drew people from all over Italy together for breakfast or lunch – something not possible without access to top-tier infrastructure like presses and ovens necessary for making great artisanal Coffee!

Our espresso drinks are made with quality cold water at room temperature which gives them an extra creamy mouth feel and extended steep time that brings out all the flavors of each bean!
The Ashland Coffee Company was founded in 1865 by Nicholas Fenton and David L. Capps. The company began making coffee beans in the town of Ashland, Kentucky. In 1892, the company moved its operations to a new warehouse on High Street in downtown Louisville. At this location, they became one of the first businesses to offer drip coffee service. In 1923, the company acquired atcaffe, which helped them become one of the first companies to sell espresso drinks in stores. They continue to produce coffee until 1971 when they merged with Theoriginal roaster co., Inc.

By the late 1800s, these same small farmers had developed a strong connection with their local area and began to specialize in certain varieties of coffee. Over time, these regional distinctions faded and all sorts of cafes began to serve unique blends of coffees from around the world. Slowly but surely, each new café built up its own reputation for quality – often relying on word-of-mouth marketing to spread word about its unique flavor profile and brewing process. As more people traveled through each area looking for great coffee, different roasters discovered that they could tap into this global demand by starting their own businesses in those areas. Some notable roasters who have helped define artisan coffee include Columbian Coffee Roasters (now part of Starbucks), Peet's Coffee UK Ltd., Blind Roaster (now part of Dunkin' Donuts), Four Barrel Coffee Co., Blue Bottle Coffee Company, The Weavers Cooperative (nowadays known as Blue Bottle Brewery) – all located within one specific geographic region or country. There is no doubt that these cafes have helped shape how we now enjoy our favorite cup of Joe: Each brings its own unique perspective and flavor profile to the table!

In 1857, Italian traders discovered coffee beans in Sumatra and began trading with India for this valuable crop. The first true espresso machine was invented in Italy in 1795.
Ashland, Kentucky is a village in Carter County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 624 at the 2010 census. Ashland is one of the most significant shopping and hospitality destinations in Carter County. The original settlement at what is now Ashland was called "Creekville" by its founders in 1805. It was first post office established on March 14, 1807. The land that now Ashland was donated by James Mays to the town of Louisville in 1851 as part of the city's initial donation to be made available for town growth and development. On November 3, 1861, while Confederate General Robert Ewell's army marched through Carter County towards Louisville from Lexington, some residents began to panic and call for help because they could smell gasolina coming from an old oil well near their homes. When Union Major General David Hunter arrived with his cavalry brigade to investigate and discover that it was not Confederate forces operating around or near that well - but rather a civilian family using it for agricultural purposes - he ordered them all back home without further ado. This event became known as "the ashlone incident." The first store opened in Ashland on December 5, 1872 by Wm Hargrave & Bros., which operated under the name "Johnnie's Store". It served as both a general store and mercantile center until it closed its doors in 1954-55 due to high competition from larger stores opening up around then like Sam’s Club and Kroger. In 1907-1908, Southeastern Coal Company built a coal mine adjacent to what is now the corner of Main Street and Main Avenue in present day Ashland (now Third Street). The company operated this mine until 1962 when it went bankrupt due to overproduction. ashlanderhighways
Ashland is a city in and the county seat of Ashland County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 18,922 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Louisville–Jefferson County metropolitan area. The name "Ashland" comes from an early French named for this location: Adam- ash- land or ashe- land. The first permanent settler in what is now Ashland was John Shepperd who arrived in 1788. He built a cabin on the property that he later sold to David Dixon and John Crouch. In 1800, James Wilkinson bought the land where Ashland now stands and developed it into a town with a sawmill and gristmill on the river front. In 1802, Caleb Watkins located his home here and opened what became known as Watkins' Store which served as the nucleus of what would become Ashland. In 1830, Abraham Lincoln moved to this area from nearby Princeton Junction to open his new law office here. He died two years later in Springfield, Missouri but left behind an estate that provided financial support for many local causes including education and infrastructure projects in this region such as Ladies Landscaping Company (later renamed CoreStatesLawn), which still exists today; also making it one of only two cities in Kentucky designated by corporate charter as an "Urban District". In 1861, Confederate General Braxton Bragg destroyed all but three buildings within three miles (5 km) of Lexington during his march through central Kentucky against Union forces under Ulysses S Grant; most notably at Fort Donelson near present day Lebanon Station on November 12th when more than 200 Union soldiers were put to death after refusing orders to surrender or be disarmed On December 1st 1865 President Andrew Johnson ordered Ulysses S Grant's army across Tennessee River into northeastern Kentucky to assault supply trains coming out of Louisville/Jefferson City while Johnston defended these supplies along with other small Confederate commands around Harrisonburg northeast of Lexington; both assaults failed due mainly because Federal artillery bombardment forced Confederate troops back across the river before they could reinforcement their positions . On January 15th 1886 Samuel Colt arrived in Lexington from Hartford Connecticut having been appointed Commissioner for Internal Revenue by then Republican Governor Goodloe Muhlenberg following victory over Democrat Antonio Gassett in November 1885 elections
