This started the "French Press Coffee era" in Kenner which lasted until about 1925. In that time, French Press Coffee was most commonly used for iced coffee or cappuccino drinks as well as espresso shots or lattes. In 1951, JT's Cafeteria opened its doors in downtown Kenner and began serving drip coffees with two scoops of grounds per cup with milk (or non-fat) added for those who desired it that way. This introduced what is still considered to be the modern drip coffee experience into local circles in Kenner!

The town was founded in 1853 by white men who named it after their hometown of Kendal, Scotland. In 1883, a post office called Kenner was established and remained in operation until 1915. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , all land. As of the census of 2000, there were 2,711 people, 1,099 households, and 855 families residing in the town. The population density was 971.9 people per square mile (368.6/km²). There were 1,247 housing units at an average density of 413.5 per square mile (158.1/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98% White; 0% African American; 0% Native American; 0% Asian; 0% Pacific Islander; and 2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3% of the population

One such person was Pierre-Simon Laplace, an astronomer and mathematician who lived in Paris during this time. He was interested in natural resources and used coffee as one of his experiments to find new ways to extract value from them. Laplace discovered that when he added sugar or milk to coffee, it gave it a peculiar sweetness that made it more palatable to humans. He also found that by using different proportions of these two ingredients, he could create various types of coffee with unique flavors and aromas. Eventually, other scientists followed suit and began producing their own variations on the classic French roast. The first commercially produced Tactical Coffee was created by a man named George Argyros in 1892. It contained only beans from Africa and Asia instead of the traditional blend of Arabica and Robusta beans found within most European roasts at the time. This move towards exotic origins helped make Tactical Coffee one of the most popular coffees around at the time. In response to the massive military surplus market, Tactical Coffee began stocking a wide variety of beans from around the world for customers to choose from. They also offer a large selection of canned goods and snacks as well as t-shirts, hats, and other clothing items.
Kenner is a city in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 10,020 at the 2010 census. It is the largest town in Lafayette Parish and the seventh-largest city in Louisiana. The first known inhabitants of what is now Kenner were two groups of Algonquian Indians who traveled through this area on their way to find new lands to hunt and fish. On November 6, 1718, French colonists named Jean Baptiste Chastelier and Pierre Lacoste founded a trading post near what is now downtown Kenner. In 1761, General Louis XV of France gave Mathieu Joly de La Salle his land grant for Kenner which included present day Lafayette Parish. The settlement at Kenner grew rapidly due to its location next to the parish seat of Lafayette, as well as its natural resources such as canals that transported goods from New Orleans across the river to Lafourche Parish. By 1800, over 50 buildings had been erected in what is now downtown Kenner including a courthouse and jail which served as temporary home for settlers during Hurricane Katrina’s devastating landfall on September 29th,. Aftermath of Katrina led to an increased demand for housing so developers began constructing more permanent structures throughout downtownKenner including several high-rise towers that still stand today. A few years later when Interstate 10 was built through central Lafayette parish it destroyed much of downtownKenner with only a few small buildings remaining standing until recently when they were restored and renamed “Downtownkenner” after Mayor Mitch Landrieu’s vision for revitalization that aimed to create jobs and increase access to education within the community Today Downtown Kenner contains many cultural attractions such as galleries, restaurants, bars & nightlife options; while also being an important hub for emergency services like police officers & firemen; making it one of Southwestern Louisiana's most vibrant neighborhoods
