The first European settlers in what is now Mandeville arrived in 1718 and began growing coffee trees. Over time, they developed a strong tradition of producing high-quality beans that was passed down through their families. By 1824, the City of Mandeville had become one of the leading producers of coffee in Louisiana. From here, it grew quickly into an important center for industry and commerce throughout Louisiana. In 1837, after purchasing land aroundMandeville from a French nobleman, Jules Thibodeaux established his own plantation named Thibodeaux Coffee Company. This company soon became one of the largest commercial establishers of black java in Louisiana. Through its years as an industry leader, Thibodeaux Coffee Company also played an important role within local community life. As such, many famous people have come through their doors – including King Louis XVIII and President James K Polk – while working at Thibodeaux Coffee Company. One particularly noteworthy figure who worked at Thibodeaux Coffee Company was Samuel Morse Sr., who created America’s first electric telegraph system from his lab on West Bank Road in Mandeville back in 1845! Today there are several active cafes located throughout town that serve up top-quality artisanal coffee products made with real human milk sourced from local farms nearby. The Mandeville Coffee Company was founded in 1892 by NicholasMandeville and his brother, John. The company grew rapidly and in 1916 bought a small parcel of land near the town square for $4,000. In 1925, the company built its first plant on what is now the corner of Second Street and Broadview Drive. In 1938, they erected their second plant on the same site, which served as their corporate headquarters until 1967. The Mandeville Coffee Company continued to produce high-quality coffee until it closed its doors in 2000.
Mandeville, Louisiana is a small town in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. The population was 8,711 at the 2010 census. It is the parish seat of Jefferson City. The town was founded on April 17, 1802 by Jean-Baptiste Chouteau and his family. The first post office in Mandeville was established on December 5, 1814. In 1827, the name of the village changed to Mandeville after General Andrew Jackson's victory in the Battle of New Orleans over Spanish forces. In 1860, when Confederate General Robert Ewell localized all slaveholders living within 10 miles of Baton Rouge so they could be removed from their plantations and placed into concentration camps known as "camps around Baton Rouge", Mandeville had 4 white families who resided there: Mrs. Jules Bassett (mother), Mr. James Bassett (father), Mrs. Sarah Ann Drury (daughter), and her two boys: John Whelan (born about 1861) and John Drury (born about 1862). Mr. Whelan had been born free but his father had sold him to a planter near Baton Rouge when he was six years old; John Drury became free at fifteen years old under the provisions of the Act for Free Negroes Passed by Congress on July 6, 1865 which abolished slavery in America everywhere except Missouri and Kentucky where it continued until January 1st 1870 . On October 15th 1830 Nicholas Boudreaux married Marguerite D'Aubigne de la Hogue de La Hogue in St Landry Parish without32surrounding villages or towns having approval being given thereto either through an act passed by congress or referendum taking place as required by law32due to concerns raised over religious intolerance throughout much of north Louisiana during that time period as well as fears that such marriages would bring social disapproval upon themselves should they take place anywhere near Catholic Cemetery located just outside singularly rural eastern Jefferson Parish boundaries - this cemetery remained open until shortly before Hurricane Katrina struck landfall unopposed forty five days later with widespread flooding resulting including some fatalities inside its walls due entirely to poor drainage infrastructure then state controlled cemeteries still exist today despite those same dangers present prior to & during that particular natural disaster!

Mandeville was a French settlement in the present day parish of Alexandria, Louisiana on the Mississippi River. It was founded by Jean-Baptiste Labat in 1730 as part of the effort to control trade along the river. The town grew rapidly and by 1760 had a population of 3,000 people. In 1800, Labat organized a militia to protect his colony from Native American attacks. By 1803, Labat had abandoned Mandeville for good and it became an isolated post on the frontier. In 1840, Confederate General Pemberton routed Union forces at New Orleans and took Mandeville with them. After the war, Mandeville reverted to French rule and its population exploded back to around 10,000 people. In 1871, Louisiana become an American state and Mandeville lost its status as an enclave within that state but continued to exist as a separate municipality until it merged with Alexandria in 1969. Mandeville is one of three settlements in present day Alexandria Parish that were founded during the early stages of what would become Louisiana’s history; other two settlements were Natchez and Biloxi. Natchez was founded by Natchitoches (a Choctaw word meaning “New Town”) traders in 1699 after they moved their village from nearby Mobile Bayou into what is now Alexandria Parish following their victory over Spanish forces during King James II’s War (1689-1698). As Biloxi developed into a major trading center near Mobile Bayou between 1699-1715 following British efforts to dominate southeastern coastal Alabama then drain out Lake Pontchartrain through Opaltee Passagenger), it likely served as inspiration for Labat’s new town on the Mississippi River where he settled in 1730 concurrent with other European settlers who sought refuge from conflict along America's southern border during this period of significant cultural change across North America."
