When Marines deploy, they bring with them a wealth of gift history. Some of the most well-known and celebrated Marine Corps gifts include the M1 Abrams tank, the P-3C Orion aircraft, and the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. While each deployment may have its own set of favorites, there is no doubt that Marines cherish their service to this country and their ability to spread democracy around the world. With all that being said, it's also important to remember that when Marines deploy for war or peace, they are always carrying with them a sense of patriotism and dedication to our nation. As such, it's impossible not to think about what Marine Corps gifts mean to those on leave or deployed worldwide. Here are 5 ways in which Marine Corps Gifts Mean Local & Global War Efforts: 1) The M1 Abrams Tank - The M1 Abrams tank is one of the most iconic military weapons in Marine Corps history. And while each individual might have their own favorite model or variant, there's no doubt that every marine who has ever served under USMC Commandos knows at least one M1 Abrams vehicle intimately. From frontline combat units all the way up through reserves and unit training facilities across America (or anywhere else marines can field them), these tanks are essential tools in any war effort. This holiday season mark 10 years since Combat Service Unit 25th Battalion (5th MEF) along with 2 other battalions mobilized under Operation Neptune Spear went into Iraqi airspace on December 7th 2003 as part of Operation Southern Watch--the largest amphibious assault in Marine Corps history! Since then we've seen some very good things from these vehicles including seeing more than 1 million miles driven on them alone--an impressive feat for an armored vehicle! What better way to commemorate this anniversary than by giving someone an originalM1 Abrams tank? 2) The P-3C Orion Aircraft - It wasn't until 2006 that USAF bestowed United States Naval Air Systems Command (USN AAC) designation on Northrop Grumman’s venerable Boeing 737 derivative known as the P-3C Orion II (Aircraft No 925). allocated Block 20B design number N819G/D2—the first production Block 20B variant powered by General Electric GE9XR engines rated at 4500 lbf @ 2700 rpm providing excellent performance both takeoff and landing despite smaller wing area achieving “high speed turns” while maintaining forward air control abilities thanks to high power digital flyby radar system aft cockpit display(FACD).
