In 1990, the Air Force donated two F-15 Eagle jets to Bay City as part of the celebrations for 50 years of air force service in Michigan. In 2003, the Air Force gifted three C-130 Hercules aircraft to Bay City as part of the celebration for 10 years of military airlift services in Michigan. In 2006, the Air Force gifted two E-4E Skymaster aircrafts to Bay City as part of 50 years of military aviation services in Michigan. These planes are used by the Department of Homeland Security for intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance missions over inland United States states and Mexico. In 2017, the Air Force gifted one KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft to BayCity as part of 10 years of military aerial refueling services in Michigan. This plane is used by Marine Corps helicopters during combat operations around Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bay City is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan and the county seat of Bay County. The population was 27,827 at the 2010 census. It is located on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan about south of Detroit, between Mackinac Island to the east and Huron River to the west. The first permanent settler in what is now Bay City was Nicholas Krieger in 1824. The town began as a trading post on Mackinac Island where fur traders met with Native Americans for trade goods such as beaver tails andwareh traps. In 1835, Bay City became part of Michigan Territory when it was organized as a result of the Mexican–American War; its first mayor was John Fenton. In 1858, Bay City became an incorporated village under State law when it had a population of 514 residents; however, this number increased rapidly due to immigration from Europe and Asia which resulted in an increase in industry and commerce that soon led to growth problems within the community limits. In 1865, Bay City annexed parts of Grand Rapids which made it one of the largest cities on Metro Detroit area by 1870; however, during World War II both cities experienced rapid growth as military industries grew large wartime needs for materials such as steel or munitions required new land areas for housing and other infrastructure development outside city limits which were not possible or practical to build without expanding into adjacent neighborhoods ( resultant current 24-hour business district). Today much of that civic center has been razed along with most homes within blocks bordered by Woodward Avenue NW - 14th Street NW - Harrison Boulevard NE - Griggs Road NE near downtown Grand Rapids – totaling 471 acres demolished since 2000 while many more structures have been converted into high-end condos or single family dwellings (See "Detroit's Downtown" map below) despite efforts by local government planners over time to preserve important assets including historical buildings such as churches dating back to 1796), significant waterfront area including several miles long undeveloped shoreline on Mackinac Island extending 3 miles out into Lake Huron hosting several thousand active boaters/kayakers year round and numerous smaller lakes nearby Census data: 2000: 27,052; 2010: 27,827

Bay City is a small town in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is located on the Kawkawin River, about 20 miles (32 km) north of Detroit and 25 miles (40 km) east of Sault Ste Marie. The population was 1,895 at the 2010 census. Bay City is one of two communities in Washtenaw County that are not part of the Wayne County metropolitan area, the other being Grand Rapids.[1] The community was named after Captain John Bayard's landing on July 3, 1807,[2] near what is now Bay City Center shopping mall and bayfront park. captain bayard had been sent by George Washington with a force to capture or kill any French traders who had established themselves along the Kawkawin River during the Seven Years' War[3]. On July 4, 1807 Captain Bayard's party arrived at Fort Henry on Beaver Island and began construction of their temporary settlement there which became known as "Bay City".[4] The first settler in Bay City was Capten John Payne who purchased land from David Snyder for $5 per acre in March 1809[5]. By 1860 Payne had sold over 2,000 acres (800 ha) within what would become downtown Bay City to 22 different settlers including 300 farmers who founded farms around downtown and 12 blacksmiths who built toolsmith shops near First Lake.[6][7][8][9] In 1861 James Worthy opened his law office in what is now Woodward Avenue #1010 where he practiced until his death in 1922. In 1865 Isaac Perkins opened a grocery store adjacent to Worthy's law office which became known as "The Perkins Store". This building still stands today next to Third Street between Union and Dearborn Streets inside the city limits of Detroit. Another early resident was Mrs Jane Goodall who resided at 9th & Market Streets from 1854-1855 before moving to her present location across Market Street from First Baptist church beginning in 1857[10]. Mrs Goodall donated land for a schoolhouse which eventually became called "BayCity School" west of Fifth Street between Elm and Perry Streets circa 1865 when it was dedicated by Mayor George Westinghouse[11]; this building still stands today acrossfrom Sixth Avenue south of Jefferson Boulevard inside the city limits of Detroit. In 1863 Elijah White organized an agricultural fairgrounds/market on adjoining property west sideof Fourth Street between Gratiot and Woodward Avenues which serve as today's Pioneer Days celebration ground with concerts, beauty pageants etc., also home to various businesses such as Sears Roebuck & Co.'s Warehouse No 575 Depot Road NW corner Third Street inside the city limits OF Detroit; this building too has since been redeveloped into several mixed use buildings including One Grand Place: A tech company formerly occupied by Ford Motor Company headquarters; [12], Fenway Park: Home Field for The Boston Red Sox professional baseball team since 1903; [13], Zeppelin Airport: Headquarters for American Airlines Group Inc.; [14], IMAX Theatre: Home Of The National Hockey League’s Detroit Red Wings professional ice hockey team
Bay City was founded in 1834 by Captain Samuel Baynton and his wife, Mary. The town was named for the bay at which it was located. The first post office in Bay City opened in 1835. The town grew rapidly, and by 1840 it had a population of over 100 people. In 1848,Bay City became a city, and its first mayor was James Broughton. In 1860, Bay City built the first brick courthouse in Michigan. By 1870, Bay City had a population of 1,500 people and had become an important trading center for the area. During the late 1800s and early 1900s, Bay City experienced intense growth due to its strategic location on the Peninsular Peninsula and its access to water resources. In 1903,BayCity merged with neighboring Lansing to form one large city
