Oakdale, Minnesota is a small town located in the St. Cloud County region of Minnesota. The population was 9,521 at the 2010 census. The Oakdale Coffee Company was founded in 1912 by Nelson and Helen Knight. In 1916, they started selling coffee beans direct to consumers through their home-based roasting operation. In 1967, the company merged with two other local companies to form the American Coffee Corporation (ACC). ACC remains one of the largest independent coffee companies in the United States today. Over time, ACC has developed a strong reputation for quality and innovation in its products and services. Today, Oakdale Coffee Company is part of Legacy Coffee Partners LLC., one of the leading coffee retailers in America. The first people to live in Oakdale were the Hennepin County settlers who arrived in 1858. The community was named after an oak tree that stood on the original site of the town. By 1870, Elmwood Cemetery had been established and Oakdale post office was opened. In 1876, a railroad track was built through Oakdale and it became a popular tourist destination for farmers looking for easy access to marketplaces in Chicago and other markets north of St Paul. The train stopped at the local depot each day, providing transportation for residents and tourists alike who enjoyed visiting the charming little town with its whitewashed buildings and tidy streetscape. Oakdale experienced rapid growth during World War II as many farmers located their homes within walking distance of Soldier Field where war supplies were unloaded and distributed to troops fighting in Europe. After Victory News ceased publication in 1945, Oakdale's vibrant culture began to wane as more postwar suburbs emerged around it- but that didn't mean life couldn't get interesting! In 1957, Maple Leaf Foods (later PepsiCo) bought much of what would become Armour Industries - making Oakdale one of North America's leading food production towns byproducts from aluminum smelting operations conducted there until 1977. That same year saw Voters pass two resolutions designating May Day as "National Democracy Day" in recognition of all that democracy has done for humanity over centuries! Today's thriving community features some amazing shops & restaurants including Findlay Market, Bison Bar & Grill & Sazerac Bar inside an updated Hart Plaza shopping center complete with a movie theater (3 screens), video game room & pool table!

The discovery of how to roast beans and produce high quality cups of coffee began with Arabians in the 16th century CE but it was Europeans who really startedto understand and appreciate this beverage when they brought it over to America during their exploration and trade ventures in the late 17th century CE. It wasn't until 1875 that Columbian Americanist trader Pedro de Valdivia discovered Brazil's bean crop while travelling through Paraguay on his way back home from Peru – this allowed him to introduce fresh roasted beans direct to North American consumers for the first time! Coffee went mainstream following Valdivia's introduction into North America! All throughout history, coffee has been used as a symbol for many things: political liberation movements such as Marxism; religious ceremonies such as Christmas; international diplomacy; philosophical discussions; etcetera. It is truly one of humanity's oldest beverages and still enjoyed by people all around the world today!
The first coffee was roasted in Ethiopia by a man named Bektar Wolde Selassie in 1896. The beans were brought overland from the Arabian Peninsula, and then shipped to Rome where they were roasted and ground into coffee.
Oakdale is a small town located in the far northcentral corner of Minnesota, about twenty miles from the state capital, Minneapolis. It was founded in 1884 by two lumbermen, W.T. and F.H. Oakdale, on land that had been part of the Dakota Sioux Nation. The community grew rapidly during the early years of its existence, thanks to its location close to a number of logging operations and its easy access to water resources. By 1912, Oakdale had reached its peak population size; at that time it consisted of just over one hundred residents. However, rapid growth soon caused problems for the townspeople; their ability to provide basic services such as public transportation and education became increasingly difficult as traffic congestion increased. In addition,Oakdale's reliance on timber export income made it vulnerable to economic downturns throughout the 1930s and 1940s. By 1951, however, Oakdale had reclaimed some of its former prosperity; at that time it consisted of just under fifty residents but boasted a thriving business district with several hundred businesses*. [*In 1951, Oakdale's business district numbered only about fifty businesses.] During the late 1960s and early 1970s*, Oakdale experienced another significant change*: its status as an agricultural center began to decline*. [* *This change can be seen in particular in regards to oak tree production.*] This decline was due primarily to three factors: first, advances in herbicide-resistant crops**; second, changes in farm policy which led to reductions in crop acreage ; thirdly* increases in rail traffic which impact farmers' ability to transport goods between markets
In 1858, the first post office was established at Oakdale. The town began to grow rapidly in the 1860s and 1870s as it became an important stop on stagecoaches travelling between Minneapolis and St. Paul. In 1887, Oakdale incorporated as a city. The city's major industry until the early 20th century was agriculture, but in the 1920sOakdale became an important center for automotive manufacturing.
