The Marines of the United States Marine Corps have been deployed in support of our country for over a century. The service has always been associated with patriotism and heroism. In Prior Lake, Minnesota, the Marine Corps' community is dedicated to providing a warm and welcoming environment where Marines can be themselves and serve their country. Today, there are more than 10,000 Marines across America performing missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. They provide security for U.S. citizens and protect our embassies abroad. As marines we share many common experiences including deployments to Guam in 1903-1904 during World War I; Okinawa in Japan during World War II; Desert Storm in 1991; Operation Neptune's Spear in 2009-2010; relief work after the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti in 2010; Operation Enduring Freedom from 2001-2002; and Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2003-2009. In Prior Lake, we enjoy hosting marine detachments which give back to the community by providing Educational & Recreational opportunities for local kids as well as giving back to other causes such as donations to the local fire department or helping out at local car auctions! We also love seeing all of those Marines come home each year - they bring so much joy into our lives!

Prior Lake is a small town in Minnesota, located on the border of Iowa and Wisconsin. The population was 794 at the 2010 census. Prior to its incorporation as a municipality in 1887, Prior Lake was a part of the Town of Holland. Prior Lake is one of the oldest communities in Minnesota and has been populated by Native Americans for over three centuries. The first European settlers arrived in 1827, and the community began to grow rapidly after being designated as a stop on an important wagon road between Minneapolis and Saint Paul. In 1857, Prior Lake became incorporated as a town, and until recently it had been home to a large rural population that relied mainly on agriculture. However, today Prior Lake is considered an affluent community with excellent education opportunities for its residents. It also remains a center for local fishing and hunting activities. One of the earliest businesses in prior lake was Mr. Mumphrey's grocery store which opened in1887. After years of growth, Prior Lake annexed neighboring townships in 1907-08 including Holland (renamed “Prior Falls”) to increase its population size by 10%. Most importantly, this annexation allowed Priorlake to become more self-sufficient with its own school system, fire department, library/gallery/nurture center/judicial branch and post office - all situated within easy reach of each other without having to rely on outside services or transportation facilities. Today there are several dozen villas dotting acres upon acres around PriorLake's central square offering breathtaking views when dark falls asleep; however they do come at an increased price tag since water meters are required by many homeowners here (and likewise sewer bills). Incorporation into municipality forced much consolidation so some homes have 2 stories high while others have 4 stories... Some may say this justifies prices tags but what about quality? With new roads being built all around town these days one would think that infrastructure improvements wouldn't be such an issue but alas they continue unabated! And just because getting around can be challenging doesn't mean life isn't bearable here... although there are moments when you feel like you're living someone else's dream come true

The Marine Corps was founded on December 7, 1821, as an infantry regiment called "The New York Volunteers". Since its inception, the Marines have played a significant role in American history. In addition to their own battalion-sized units within each Marine Corps brigade Combat Team (BCT), there are Marine detachments deployed worldwide with task forces ranging in size from unit numbering around 100 Marines to operational battalions numbering 10,000 Marines or more. These multinational deployments help ensure that marines can respond rapidly and effectively wherever they are needed most – whether it be supporting allies fighting alongside us or training our own next generation of officers and soldiers.
