The Coffee House was one of the first coffeehouses in the area and served roasted coffee beans to residents of Rosemount and surrounding rural areas. In 1916, The Coffee House was sold to George W. Dickey and his wife Sarah. Sarah operated the business until her death in 1949. After Sarah's death, George W. Dickey continued to run the business with his three daughters, Mrs. Jensine Sauer (1948-1970), Mrs. Betty Koehler (1970-1978), and Ms. Linda Rasmussen (1978-1986). In 1986, Mr. Dickey died at age ninety five and Mrs. Rasmussen succeeded him as owner/operator of the Business until her death in 1992. The current owners of The Coffee House are Linda Rasmussen and her husband Tom Rasmussen; they have been running the business since 1993 when it reopened under new ownership after being closed for many years by previous owners/.

Rosemount is a small town in Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,817 at the 2010 census. Rosemount is located on the eastern edge of the Twin Cities metropolitan area and is part of its Center City district. It was founded in 1872 by immigrants from Hungary. The first permanent residents of what would become Rosemount were two families who arrived in 1872: John and Anna Kappeler fromGermany and their three children—John, Anna, and Emilie (1873-1958)—all born in Hungary. In 1875, the Kappels built the first house on present-day Flower Street. They had two more children before moving out of town in 1884 due to a lack of space. A post office called Rosemount was established in 1881, and remained open until it was discontinued in 1912. At that time, it was known as "township 5." The name comes from Hungarian originsmeaning "place where roses grow" or "homes near a rosebush." In 1902, Pioneer settlers John Muhlenberg (1836-1920) and his wife Lilla (1849-1922) moved to Rosemount from Hennepin County and beganowning land around what is now Nissen Road; they named their farm after their daughter Alma (1868-1957). From 1903 to 1906 they served as Mayor of Minneapolis; during their terms many important civic improvements were made such as paving Independence Avenue between First National Bank and Snelling Avenue; installation of streetlights at intersections throughout the city; creation of fire halladessewers for streetside fires; financing for building various schools within Minneapolis innercity boundaries including Lindbergh Elementary School now home to Roosevelt Middle Schooland Atherton Elementary School now home to Eastman Elementary School.; promotionofRosemount's status as an agricultural centerdue to productionofgrainbricks., potatoes., apples., quinces.(nowknownas Apple Valley), sweet corn,,and beets.(now knownas Hopkins Corn Field.). Additionally during this time period significant contributions were made by local businessmen Julius Nygaard (1850-1925), George Wittenberg (born 1865), Alfred Pohlmann(1862-1945), Albert Fenton(born 1865), Edward Burns(born 1870)), Jens Olesen(1878-)and August Stricker(died 1917). By 1915 therewere over 100 businesses operating within one kilometer radiusofthe central business district alone.-Today most notable businesses include ConAgra Foods Incorporated which has its corporate headquarters adjacent to Parkrose Shopping Center on Lyndale Ave., Target Corporation across from Target Minnesota on Nicollet Mall,, Nordstrom Rack & Save Stores inside Nordstrom Tower off Nicollet Mall,, Menard’s Grocery Store off West Broadway next doorto Snelling Pharmacy,. Hennepin County since incorporated into Minneapolis proper has lost much but not all its agriculture industry with major crops like corn becoming soybeans or wheat being grown by farmers east of Rice Lake.. Today Roses are still grown here although less extensively than when plants were first brought over
