That same year, the first Dutch-owned grocery store in the city opened its doors, and it is said that Hamburgers and Coffee were among the items sold there. In 1951, The Coffee Shop moved to its current location at 2200 Second Avenue Southeast after being purchased by entrepreneur Samir Kemsley from his father-in-law's business. Kemsley renamed the business The Coffee House, changed its hours to 8 a.m.-8 p.m., and began serving breakfast until 3 p.m.. South St. Paul, Minnesota is a town in Rice County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,595 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Minneapolis–St. Paul metropolitan area. In 1912 South St. Paul was founded as a small settlement on the banks of what is now called Cedar Creek and it became an important educational center for farmers in the region and served as a transportation hub for goods arriving from rural areas to urban centers such as Minneapolis-Saint Paul and Chicago. The Town of South St.Paul was dissolved in 1955 and its land redistributed among various localities within Rice County including Teaville, Eden Prairie, Waconia, Woodbury Heights and Stillwater before being annexed by Minneapolis-St.Paul in 1959. In 1951 South St. Paul's first library opened with Jeanine Herrick serving as the librarian until her death in 1984
