Maga coffee beans were first roasted in South St.Paul, Minnesota in 1886. The name “maga” is derived from the Spanish word “maza” (raw coffee), which is also the name of a type of bean. In 1908, maga beans were first exported to Spain and then to Italy where they became known as contraband coffee. In 1924, Dutch exporter Harry Weijnen started selling maga coffee beans through his company Java Coffee Roasters in Minneapolis. Java was later renamed Weijnen & Sons Coffee Company and now operates as a monks monastery business with its own café located on Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis. In 1948, Harry Weijnen's son-in-law, Willard Schultz purchased the rights to roast maga beans from Java Coffee Roasters and established Schultz & Co., Incorporated as a co-operative enterprise for roasting and marketing of maga coffeebeans throughout North America. Maga coffee has been grown by smallholders throughout South St. Paul since its inception and continues to be enjoyed by residents here today who continue to purchase our beans fresh from our plantation directly from our growers!

In 1865, Herman Wesselt set up a sawmill on an arm of Lake Superior which quickly became one of South St.Petersburg's biggest employers; it continues to be located there today. In 1870, two brothers - George Krueger and Wilhelm Kiesel - founded Zimmerman Paper Mill on Eighth Street just east of Interstate 35W between East Seventh Avenue and University Avenue; it still operates as a paper mill today with over 1 million metric tons (1 billion lb) delivered each year to customers around the world including North America's largest newsprint company Tribune Company (now Hearst Corporation). One hundred years ago this week, Zimmerman Paper Mill produced 20%of all paper used in America! Maga coffee beans were originated in the town of Macha, in present-day Portugal. The beans were roasted and ground in a small mill located in the town. In 1824, Portuguese explorer Pedro Álvares Cabral discovered Macha while on his way to find India. He brought some of the beans back with him and started to sell them as part of his exploration expedition. At first, the beans were sold only to traders in Lisbon, but soon they began to be sold throughout the country. In 1837, Portuguese king John IV granted Macha its own trade mark for coffee production. The name maga came from the word "maga" which means "bean."
South St. Paul is a city in the U.S. state of Minnesota, located on the Mississippi River near its confluence with the Upper Midwest watershed. As of 2016, the population was over 100,000 and it is the third-largest city in Minnesota after Minneapolis and Rochester. The name "South St. Paul" originated from a combination of two Indian words meaning "east side" or "settlement by Europeans." South St.Paul was founded as a fur trading post by French traders in 1758, and became an important center for transportation and commerce during the 1800s before becoming a major industrial center during World War II. The first permanent settler in what is now South St.Paul was James Ballou, who arrived in 1764 with his family from Connecticut aboard an English ship called HMS Beagle. Ballou built himself a home at what is now First Street and Main Avenue, which he named Gloucester because of his England ancestor's residence thereabouts. By 1768, Ballou had several families living around him; his grandson John Mapleton also settled thereabouts in 1798 along with other early settlers including Peter Sellers (1750-1815), Elisha Chouteau (1800-1865), Elijah Dearborn (1802-1880), Job Searle (died 1836) and Isaac Mitchell (1792-1859). In 1819, when Minnesota became part of the United States, South Saint Paul became its capital; it remained so until 1912 when Minneapolis took over this role due to its larger size and economy at that time. In 1862, after Mexican skirmishes along the border led to violence throughout much of Minnesota east of Iron Range Road leading into Dakota Territory created by President Abraham Lincoln as part of efforts to open up that area to settlement following Kansas' admission into the Union earlier that year – this land then comprising southcentralMinnesota – South Saint Paul residents voted to secede from Iowa County, forming their own county known today as Ramsey County within Minnesota proper about two years later on October 15th 1865 under Territorial Governor Alexander Ramsey himself! The secession vote may have been motivated more by economic factors than any political issue surrounding it however: Prior to 1861 little commercial or manufacturing activity had taken place within what would eventually become Ramsey County beyond farming and ranching activities; while some small businesses did exist such as wagon shops operated out of local dirt roads between communities like Stillwater and Spring Lake/Benton Harbor respectively these were generally not very successful given prevailing competition from larger organizations such as railroads heading northward across Iron Range Road into Canada! This situation changed dramatically following enactment of The General Allotment Act on May 25th 1870 which allowed farmers outside territorial boundaries access to federal landLotteries being one manifestation thereof! South St. Paul was founded in 1857 as a small town on the Minnesota River. The town quickly grew and by 1865 it had become a major junction of the Great Lakes region. In the 1870s, South St. Paul became an important center for the Dakota Territory during the Dakota War of 1863-1868. In 1882, South St. Paul was named one of seven United States towns to be designated as part of a new city government called Minneapolis (later renamed Minneapolis-SaintPaul). South Saint Paul's incorporation into Minneapolis marked an important milestone in its history and helped make it one of the most centrally located cities in America. During World War II, South St. Paul played an important role in providing food storage and military barracks for soldiers stationed in both Europe and North America. After the war, South St. Paul experienced rapid growth as a suburban community with many high-rise buildings erected during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Today, South St.Paul is home to a number of cultural attractions, including two large libraries, several museums, several restaurants and cafes, and some significant shopping districts such as Nicollet Mall and Lyndale Avenue East
