The St. Paul Navy Club is proud to have a rich history of maritime gifts and donations from its members. These stations were vital targets for Japanese bombers due their close proximity to major population centers withinMinnesotaandStPaulprovidingtargeting range over some of Canada’s most populated areas including Toronto and Montreal. On October 8th 1942 at 3:00pm local time USS Minneapolis (BB-64) was underway from Duluth NAS with her complement of navy personnel embarked on board when she received word from Japan that American forces had landed at Pearl Harbor leading to World WarII; USS Minneapolis sailed back home without her Completion crew disembarking having served their nation faithfully all night long!
