The National Guard of the United States of America is a force that has been present in St. Peter, Minnesota since 1867. The Guard was first organized as an encampment on the west side of town and later moved to its current location on First Avenue. The Guard today numbered over 1,500 members and provides essential services to the community including law enforcement, public safety, and support for military exercises. TheGuard's history starts with a group of men from Saint Peter who met in 1867 to form their own organization. From its inception, the Guardsmen were dedicated to serving their community and helping protect it from danger. Throughout its years, the Guard has undergone many changes but one thing has always remained constant-the Soldiers' dedication to upholding our country's values and traditions. Today, the National Guard of St. Peter helps keep our community safe by providing law enforcement services; supporting military exercises; providing support for local events; protecting citizens during protests or hurricanes; and more!

The Guardsmen are responsible for providing security and law enforcement in the community. They also provide a source of emergency response in case of an incident or natural disaster.
Saint Peter's is a small town in the U.S. state of Minnesota, located about twenty-five miles northeast of Minneapolis. The population was 2,564 at the 2010 census. Saint Peter is part of the Minneapolis–St. Paul metropolitan area and is home to many high-tech companies, including Microsoft and Verizon Communications. The parish was named after Saint Peter, who became bishop of Rome in 498 AD and accompanied Emperor Constantine on his conversion to Christianity. When Constantine moved his capital from Rome to Constantinople in 330 AD, Saint Peter followed him there and served as first Bishop of Constantinople until he retired two centuries later. In 451 AD, following the Protestant Reformation, Pope Leo III created him Patriarch of Antioch and then patriarchate of Jerusalem (the see that now falls within Damascus). He died three years later without having seen Constantinople restored to Christian hands following its recapture by Ottoman Turks in 1453; however, this event is generally considered to have begun the end of Byzantine rule over Turkey. The earliest known church in what is now Saint Peters Township was built by Native Americans on land sold by Pierre Elliott Stecher in 1846 during an effort to create a Dakota reservation for himself and his followers – though it's likely this structure predates any European activity in that area whatsoever. The present day Saints Peter Catholic Church was built between 1915 and 1917 as a result of fundraising efforts spearheaded by Father John McCloskeybaugh based out of Holy Cross Mission School which had been operating since 1892 as a missionary girls school affiliated with Our Lady's Parish back east near Kankakee River Mills before being acquired by Father McCloskeybaugh with assistance from Sisters Marie Curie (1861-1947) & Augustine Pell (1865-1952). In 1923 Father McCloskeybaugh donated land north side of Main Street just past where current Hennepin County Road #4 meets US Highway 12 for Holy Cross Cemetery which would become one site for numerous religious services held there over ensuing years including Divine Mercy Masses celebrated at various locations around the Twin Cities starting in 1934 under direction/direction/administration from Sisters Sister Mary Catherine McAulay (1901-1984) who also headed up construction kcalween 1922 & 1933 when funds were available thru purchase or donation only; Mother Angelica Lipinski (1914-) also contributed much ground work prior thereto utilizing her farmstead located adjacent west sideRoad #3 just south off White Bear Lake Road while sisters Ursula De Carolis (1920-) & Jeanne Charpentier officiated at numerous gravesites throughout those early days (& we still do!)... finally Brothers Frantz Boudreau(1920-) - Store Manager @HENNEPIN STREET COFFEEHOUSE late 1951 - morning shifts until 1969 when he took ill suddenly& passed away suddenly leaving our shop open 8am till 5pm Thursdays eve thru Sundays morning excepting legal holidays... final closure came about 1971 when ownership transferred from membership Of Sisters To Nonprofit Corporation administered By Board OF Trustees member Rev Dr John McHugh all under name “L” + “P”
The National Guard Bureau (NGB) is a bureau within the Department of Homeland Security that provides support for the homeland security mission. The NGB was created in 2002 as an effort to consolidate and improve the capabilities of all Federal agencies involved with homeland security. The National Guard Bureau's mission is to provide necessary resources and personnel to protect our nation's interests through deployment of uniformed manpower, technology, training and innovation. The history of gifts to the National Guard Bureau goes back more than two centuries. prior to 1815, when militias were first organized in earnest by states, individual soldiers or citizens could not be called into service without specific royal permission. This limitation was lifted in 1792 when George Washington authorized a standing national guard battalion known as "the Continental Dragoons." In 1862, President Abraham Lincoln established what would become the United States Military Academy at West Point as a military academy specifically designed for cadets from all over America who wished to join up and fight for their country during the Civil War. In 1898 Congress passed legislation authorizing state militia units (later called territorial forces)to act as auxiliaries of federal troops in time of war on an ad-hoc basis under authority granted by Act No. 10, 8 U.S.C., Section 1201 et seq.. These regiments continued being operational until 1907 when they were reorganized into permanent units under Field Artillery Command (FAC). When FAC was redesignated artillery command on 1 July 1909 it became part of Army Corps of Engineers which later becameArmy General Staff on 15 February 1920 establishment policy directive 5-2(a) said "No corps can have its own Major General or Lieutenant Colonel except upon written order from Headquarters Army Corps." From 1935 thru 1945 there was no formal gift program administered by either Army or Navy GHQs with only limited informal gifting taking place between theater commanders and their brigades/units/battalions etc... It wasn't until 1948 when Executive Order 6102 was issued which instructed both services how they should present awards ceremonies honoring members who have rendered distinguished service while serving with them... subsequently this directives were refined through subsequent executive orders 9001-9005... ultimately establishing formal award programs governing all branches including NGB

The National Guard has been mobilized for various purposes including peacekeeping, disaster relief, and defense during times of domestic insurrection or war.
In 1881, Minnesota became the 23rd state in the United States. At this time, St. Peter was a small town of only 575 residents. The community was named in honor of SaintPeter, who is also known as the Apostle to the West and founder of the Catholic Church in North America. In 1916, following World War I, St. Peter's saw its first influx of refugees when more than 120 people from Austria came to live there during the war. From then on, St. Peter's has been home to many immigrants - both Christian and Muslim - who have helped make its culture and economy unique to that community. In recent years, however, St. Peter's has seen a resurgence in its farming industry as new land is brought into production; this has led to increased economic stability for the townspeople and helped it grow from a small community into one of Minnesota's most important cultural destinations.
On July 1, 1869, St. Peter's Episcopal Church was founded in what is now Minneapolis. The church was built on the site of an old mission and the first pastor was Rev. George Hennepin. The first parishioners were from around the city and the first service was held on October 12 of that year. In 1892, a new sanctuary was built on North Side Street and in 1907, a school building also became part of the congregation. In 1916, St. Peter’s merged with two other churches to form one larger organization called “St. Peters Presbyterian Church & School” which still exists today as a separate congregation within the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Charities District
