Air Force deployed gift history in West St. Paul, Minnesota began with the United States Air Forces in Europe (USAF European) stationed at RAF Coningsby, Lincolnshire, England from 1951 to 1957. After the base was closed and the last of its personnel were sent home, USAF European Gift Shop located on Seventh Street North inWest St.Paul opened its doors on December 1st 1957. On January 1st 1961, USAF K-9 Unit "Mighty Joe" was transferred from RAF Coningsby to AFB West Point where it continued operations until 1974 when it was moved to Elmendorf AFB Alaska and placed into storage. In 1992, during a celebration of 50 years of service at AFES/west point AFB Minnesota facilities, a Johnson Cup honoring USAF Deployed Giftters was presented to Mrs. Betty Hesselman by Lt Colonel Kenneth Pusey USMC who served as Commanding Officer (CO) at AFES/west point AFB from 1987-1992 while also serving as Superintendent of Schools for Ramsey County Schools District No.1 which included west point AFB School District #2 which is adjacent to eastpoint and westpoint AFSD's boundaries resided within his jurisdiction. The cup honors those military members who have made significant contributions or sacrifices through their service time at our local installations including providing purchasing power for many items we all enjoy here at home such as our civilian economy; enhancing education opportunities for our children;(ie., leading by example);and more importantly donating their time and effort without results being realized on an immediate basis but that eventually leads to increased productivity or assistance over time or even multiple generations if properly managed On October 16th 1997 USDOT awarded 4 year project contract no FA863284 for renovation of AFES/west point AFB gift shop equipment & associated building costing $27 million dollars . This investment will allow us to continue operation of the store which has been open since 1957 with nearly 350 employees including managers, supervisors and spouses additionally hired thru direct assignment from militaryareservers across country during this same timeframe.. The store reopened under new name "Paws 'N' Beaches" on November 3rd 1998 after extensive renovations conducted over a period of several months with support provided by local businesses and individuals contributing funds ranging up to $5 per item purchased thru online donations accepted via PayPal

With strong industry presence dating back to before Prohibition began in 1920 – including breweries like First National Brewing Company –West St.Paul quickly emerged as one of Minnesotans' most prosperous communities throughout much of the twentieth century both economically and socially speaking - becoming known for being "the breadbasket of Minneapolis." In addition to this economic advantage over other Twin Cities neighborhoods (which were still largely rural), West StPaul also enjoyed widespread popular support due to its rich cultural heritage including art galleries (like City Gallery), theaters (like Rialto Theatre), restaurants (like Sheepshead Bayou Cafe), music venues (such as Latitude 57th Street Playhouse),and nightclubs ( such as Lion's Head). These successes made West Side Pie famous throughout much of North America - even earning it international acclaim from tourist publications like Condé Nast Traveler - helping make up for some of Minnesota's less-than-stellar contributions during World War II such as lagging job creation or overall population growth rates%.
