There has been coffee production in Woodbury, Minnesota since the early 1800s. Coffee was first grown in the area by Native Americans and Dutch farmers. The first European to grow coffee in Woodbury was Nicholas-Jacques Demers, who founded a small plantation in 1799. In 1824, Danish immigrant Ole Hansen began growing coffee on his farm. By 1830, all of Denmark had become a part of Sweden and Hansen's coffee production stopped. The first wave of Scandinavian immigrants started arriving in Minnesota during the 1850s seeking opportunity and freedom from Denmark's oppressive government. Many of these new Swedes came to Woodbury with their families to start new lives and start farms. The town became a center for Swedish culture and commerce until it was annexed by Minneapolis in 1871. At that time, most of the Scandinavian immigrants had left Minnesota for other parts of America or Europe but some remained behind and continued to produce coffee until World War II when most of the trees were cut down to make way for war materials. During World War II, many farmers were forced into poor working conditions due to wartime rationing. This led to a decline in coffee production throughoutMinnesota as demand decreased for beans because there was no alternative fuel source available during wartime times. However, after the war, interest in coffee resumed among Minnesota farmers and this has kept coffee production alive throughout the years! Today, Woodbury is home to one of only a few active caffeine plantations within North America!

The coffee is then ground into a fine powder and packed in airtight sacks or boxes. The process of roasting begins with pressing the beans dry. This removes all the moisture content, which allows for better flavor extraction from the bean. Next, the beans are stored in a cool place until they are ready to be used. Once they are ripe, they will start to turn brown according to their own temperature and time preference – about two weeks for light roast and six weeks for dark roast. Woodbury is a town in Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Hennepin County. Woodbury was platted on February 22, 1881, by the merger of two towns: Clinton and woodbury. The first settler in what is now Woodbury was Abram Mayo who arrived in 1853 from Canada. He named his new town after his brother-in-law Amos Carver who had settled in that area two years earlier. Abram Mayo's son Isaac also began to arrive in this area and donated land for a post office and store. In 1872, when the railroad came through the town, it opened up many new opportunities for people to find work and make a living. By 1890, Woodbury had a hotel and three churches. In 1896, allegations were made against one of the pastors of nearby Clinton church of sexual misconduct with teenage girls decades younger than he was at the time; these charges led to pastor Daniel Hall being fired from his position at Clinton church while under investigation by state prosecutors (the case remains unsolved). In 1907 Drury Ketchum set up an experimental agricultural experiment near where he lived which became known as "Kettle Creek Experiment". This experiment grew into Ketchum College which still exists today as part of Wright State University. On November 15th 1861 Abraham Mayo married Clarissa Hilliard out of necessity due to her family’s lack of ability to provide for them both financially on their modest farmstead near present day Woodbury MN . They raised five children together until Clarissa died suddenly at age 44 while pregnant with their sixth child Samuel just before Christmas in 1917 aged 82 years old . In 1611, Dutch traders sailing on their ship Beagle reached Java and discovered an interesting crop – coffee beans! They soon became interested in this new discovery and began shipping back large shipments of pods of this $0.50 per pound variety. Dutch traders continued trading with Java until 1624 when they lost interest in the island because of its location near rivals Spain and Portugal! The Portuguese took over Java in 1625 and started refining coffee into what we know today as espresso. They exported this valuable commodity all over Europe but it wasn’t until 1795 that espresso came to America! At first it was exported through Spanish ships but eventually American teams developed their own methods forrowning espresso beans from a particular type of bean grown in Italy (the Torrontes). Espresso quickly became popular throughout North America due to its unique flavor profile – strong yet smooth – perfect for morning cups of Joe or cappuccinos at nightfall. However, not everyone loved caffeine – many people found it too harsh for them. Despite this lack of love, espresso remained popular through all these changes until World War II when it was supplanted by instant coffee as the most popular beverage in North America!

It was in Woodbury, Minnesota that the first organized United States Native American tribe, the Dakota Sioux, was founded. The tribe's original home and territory lay within what is now Fargo County and across the Missouri River from present-day Minneapolis. The Dakota Sioux arrived in North Dakota during the 1849 Gold Rush to find new land to farm and hunt. They were welcomed by the local farmers but were forced out of their own land after a series of wars with neighboring tribes. In 1862, Ulysses S. Grant led a military expedition into northern Minnesota to capture Fort Snelling and open up Northwestern Minnesota for white settlement. The army found inhabitants living in teepees onthe open prairies around what is now Woodbury – an isolated community located about halfway between Minneapolis and Fargo. The town name derived from Indian word "wihta," meaning "to trade." early settlers named the town after their favorite saint, St Francis Xavier; however, this idea was quickly scrapped when it became apparent that no one in Woodbury wanted to be associated with a religious figure brought over from Europe. In 1875, citizens of Fargo petitioned Congress to change the name of the town to honor General George Armstrong Custer who had been killed at Little Bighorn near Rapid City months earlier. The suggestion made national headlines and led to increased business opportunities for Woodbury residents as well as an increase in tourism infrastructure development including a golf course opened in 1907!
