On December 7, 1941, the United States of America was attacked by Japan. The Japanese military used American planes and bombers to carry out a devastating bombing campaign in the Midwestern city of Creve Coeur. The attack killed over 100 people and injured more than 500 others. These donations represented single acts within a larger trend by commanders seeking to provide assistance or tribute to local civic organizations or airports who had aided USAAF operations during World War II. In 1951 General Hoyt Vandenberg dedicated two Lockheed L-5D Skyraiders at Grand Forks AFB(GME No.: 610) as part of Operation Neptune's Spear which transported troops and equipment across North Korea for UN forces combatting Kim Jong Il’s Communist regime (En route Orders: GME Nos.: 611 12/51; 612 04/52). This dedication also represented a milestone in Air Force helicopter service as it marked first time helicopters were flown into combat hostilities outside Continental US airspace! In 1974 General Bob Love donated his Cessna 172A from Nellis AFB(GME No.: 337)to Valley Forge Municipal Airport(VAL), providing runway access for small airport users throughout Central Pennsylvania( Goering Memorandum No.#4). Valley Forge Municipal Airport eventually became home to four different typesofairports including general aviation airport status when Ashtabula County closed its business due to budget limitations in 1992.( valleyforgedailynews@aol.com ). Since then Valley Forge has been host to several major events such asthe Presidents Cup Golf Tournament held every other year since 1998and numerous flyovers by various jets including Southwest Airlines mainline jetpilots onoccasionallyduringnonstop flights from Pittsburgh International Airport

The Creve Coeur Air Force Base gift history began in 1947 when the Federal government gifted two F-86 Sabres to the United States Air Force. The planes were used as trainers and were later passed on to the Missouri National Guard. In 1984, the Missouri Air National Guard donated a C-130H Hercules transport plane to be used at Creve Coeur AFB. This plane is now used as a commuter airline service between Creve Coeur AFB and other nearby airports.

However, since 1990s there has been a renewed focus on revitalization efforts within the city limits. These efforts have included increased investment into arts and culture, infrastructure development including new buildings and roads, and growing number of residential units. Despite these challenges, CreveCoeur remains one of America’s most moribund cities with only 3% population growth over last decade
