Tactical coffee is a type of coffee that has been enjoyed by people in the St. Louis area for many years. Tactical coffee comes from two sources: military and law enforcement. Military and law enforcement use different types of beans to make their cups of tactical coffee. The first time that Tactical Coffee was used in the St. Louis area was during World War II. The first military unit to drink Tactical Coffee was the United States Marine Corps’ 1st Battalion, 5th Marines. The battalion drank Tactical Coffee to keep them awake during long deployments overseas. After the war, Tactical Coffee began being used by local police departments in the St. Louis area as well. In 1969, SWAT teams started using Tactical Coffee in order to fight crime more effectively. SWAT teams use different types of beans for their cup of coffee, but all have one common goal – making sure that they are able to function while under high pressure or when they need to be quick on their feet while working close quarters with suspects or hostages

The first coffeehouses in the city of St. Louis were established in 1824 by James K. Polk and others as a response to the increase in coffee trade from Illinois to Missouri. The first coffeehouse, The Catacombs, was located at 5th and Market Streets. In 1830, Nicholas Joliot opened his Joliet Coffee House on 7th Street between Prairie and Quincy Streets. By 1830, Joliet had become one of the most popular coffeehouses in town. In 1836, John Aiken organized the First National Coffee Company which became known as America'sFirst Coffeehouse chain. America'sFirst operated 24 locations throughout Missouri by 1840 with more than 1,000 customers per day. Aiken's son-in-law Andrew Goodman founded Goodloe Bros., a grocery store on Grand Boulevard near Florissant Avenue in Lake St. Louis beginning in 1847 which also became one of the most popular grocery stores in town until it closed in 1962 due to competition from Department Stores such as Sam’s Club and Kroger
Lake St. Louis is a small, polluted body of water located in the county seat of St. Louis, Missouri. The name comes from the French phrase "L’Alleluia" which means "the glad tidings." The body of water was formed when the Mississippi River overwinched its banks and filled up Lake Missoula. In 1815, when Congress passed the first act to improve navigation on the river, they included a provision for creating a new body of water called the Petite Riviere (Small River). This new body of water would be located between downtown and east-central St. Louis, and would include parts of what is now neighborhoods such as West Englewood and Hazel Crest. The first settlers in this area were Catholic missionaries who arrived in 1765. The land that became Lake St.Louis was bought by General John Fenton in 1787 for $5,000 cash from Jean Baptiste Point du Sable. He named it after his patron saint, Saint Louis. The town that developed around Fenton's plantation began to grow rapidly after he sold it to other colonists in 1792 for $10 per acre ($166 per square mile). By 1800, there were more than 1,000 people living in what is now north-central St.Louis County and about 350 businesses had been established within one decade of its founding! In 1802 Territorial Governor James Kiefer created a temporary military post at Fenton's plantation known as Fort Leavenworth; this post was eventually moved to Springfield during the Mexican War because it could not be trusted to protect Fort Massacres south of town (later renamed Mexico City). When Mexico dissolved into several countries following their Cession on December 12th 1821 A map prepared by Captain James Neely showed that part of present day St., Louis County including most then current areas lay within Spanish territory or under occupation by troops loyal to Spain! This left an opening for American investors seeking access to open trade with Mexico across Paso de la Frontera! One such investor was Augustus De Grave who purchased 3/4ths interest in mineral rights along both sides of the Arkansas River from Juan Antonio Lopez de Aguayo y Costilla on November 9th 1825 for $1 million! In World War II, coffee was also used by the Japanese army in order to improve their battlefield intelligence. After the war, coffee began to be used more generally as a beverage for civilians and has since become one of the most popular drinks worldwide.

Additionally, Lake Saint-Louis played host to significant events such as the 1968 Summer Olympics – which were then only a local event – as well as various other international meetings and events over time.
