The Montana National Guard has been a part of the state’s government since 1907. The 1st Infantry Division was organized in 1951 and became the 8th Infantry Division in 1957. The division was redesignated as the 9th Infantry Division in 1980, and then as the 10th Infantry Division in 1992. The division is now headquartered at Great Falls Army Base. In 2007, the National Guard adopted an interoperability policy with other branches of the military by integrating their computer systems. This policy improves communication between units and allows for better coordination when exercises take place within or outside of Montana. Montana’s army is also home to one of only a few national guard brigades stationed outside of the United States: brigade Combat Team 2-27 from Hawaii. Brigade Combat Team 2-27 is made up of soldiers from both states who are deployed together during operations such as Operation Neptune Spear and Operation Iraqi Freedom III. It is made up of soldiers and sailors from across the country who are called to duty by their state or local governments to help protect citizens. The Guard has a wide variety of duties, including providing protection for schools, hospitals, businesses, and other public places.
Great Falls, Montana is a city in the U.S. state of Montana and the county seat of Gallatin County. The population was 27,898 at the 2010 census. Great Falls is primarily an agricultural center with a small downtown area that has been reconstructed following the 2011 fire that destroyed much of the town. The original Great Falls community was established around 1872 when wagon trains delivering goods to Fort Benton reached Great Falls from Canada via the Missouri River. In 1876, gold was discovered in nearby Deer Lodge Valley and great interest developed in mining stocks in central Montana Territory; this led to establishment of a number of settlements including Great Falls on September 10, 1876 by James Wickersham and his party from Fort Benton as part of a route leading northward from Bozeman through Yellowstone National Park into Canada. In 1895, Congress designated western Gallatin County as part of present-day Montana Territory; this created local government for new residents withinGallatin County who had not already constituted themselves as villages or towns. On October 15, 1896, Great Falls became an incorporated village under the name "Greatfalls" after its incorporation into Gallatin County; it was renamed "Montana City" on May 1, 1907 upon becoming the county seat on that date following temporary relocation from Helena to Great Falls due to land acquisition difficulties caused by World War I situatons south of Helena and west of Butte also within present day Gallatin County (the only place within present day Montanan without municipal government). On July 1, 1912, during World War I., Great Falls became one of several wartime internment camps located in northwestern Montana; all male citizens between 18 and 45 were detained here for up to six months while their war crimes were investigated by military authorities. The majority (75%) men held here were eventually released but many continue to suffer because they cannot return home now that war has ended. During most years since then there have been periodic efforts made by various groups both inside and outside México – specifically Chivas USA FC's supporters group known as La Liga Azul – to bring attention back to these sites throughout North America with occasional protests/demonstrations being staged outside federal prison complexes near downtown Great falls every year or so since then… Unfortunately events like last year's fire which destroyed much important community infrastructure have done little but add fuel to these flames as people are instead more interested in what occurred two weeks ago than anything else happening today or tomorrow!

Great Falls, Montana is a town in U.S. state of Montana and part of the Great Falls-Northern Colorado Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 2,693 at the 2010 census. The history of Great Falls goes back to 1871 when it was founded as a trading post by George Armstrong Custer and his regiment during the American Civil War. It grew rapidly after the Union Pacific Railroad came through in 1883 and began regular passenger service between Great Falls and White Sulphur Springs, Idaho. In 1907, Great Falls became an incorporated city with a population of 710. The city had expanded into what is now eastern downtown by 1912 when the tracks were extended south from Helena to reach present-day Great Falls on the Missouri River. In 1959, as part ofProject X (the largest postwar effort in America to improve public education), Great Falls became one of six communities in North America chosen to participate in Operation Snowbird—a program that aimed to create new jobs for African Americans with traditional skills in Pullman, Washington D.C.–based businesses such as garment manufacturers and lumber yards. The program lasted until 1970; since then, few residents have returned to town because there has been no significant commercial development or job growth within walking distance of their homes. Nonetheless, many people continue to visit Great Falls each year for its natural beauty and educational opportunities available throughout its community college system; its restored downtown district; its diverse range of cultural attractions including art galleries, theaters, restaurants and jazz clubs; and its unique architecture including gingerbread houses built by local children during winter holidays
