In 1824, a Mr. and Mrs. John Fritsche purchased a small farm near Highland Park and started to grow coffee beans. They named their farm “Dutch Bros” after their business partner at the time, who also ran a grocery store within walking distance of their home. The Dutch Bros., along with other early pioneers in Highland Park, helped shape the town into what it is today with its rich history and continue to make an impact on the community today. Today, there are several signature Dutch Bros locations throughout the area including one on Market Street near High School and another across from JJB’s Pizza inside of PNC Field south of Broad Street (formerly known as Veterans Memorial Stadium). Highland Park is a small town in New Jersey, located in Morris County. The population was 7,189 at the 2000 census. Highland Park is part of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. It is bordered by Columbia Township to the north, Princeton Township to the east, and Easton Township to the south. The first settler in what would become Highland Park was John Ferris who built a cabin on Ridge Road in 1812. He and his family were followed by others over the next few years until it was decided that a larger settlement was necessary so that they could support themselves and their families. In 1821, General George Washington granted land to John Ferris for his farmstead which became known as Highland Park. By 1830, there were over 100 residents living in Highland Park. In 1832, Samuel Morse established a mill here which eventually became one of America's most famous educational institutions with its graduate school of engineering now known as Penn State University (now University of Pennsylvania). In 1836, James Dulton founded Erie Canal Company with $10 million dollars raised from investors and started construction on what would become today's Broad Street mall – one of the largest shopping complexes in North America at that time! In 1865-1866 when Union troops burned Downers Grove during their raid through Morris County looking for munitions storage facilities – much like raids are done today – many homes and businesses including Ferris' Mill were destroyed along with all crops grown nearby because cannons then could be fired only into towns or other populated areas instead of into civilian targets! As a result of this attack on Highland Park, many people fled to higher ground where they remained until 1863 when peace finally came to Morristown after three years of bloody fighting! From 1870-1914 almost all manufacturing within five miles (8 km) of Center CityPhiladelphia ceased due to strikes or low demand from immigrants working near shipped goods destined for eastern markets while high prices kept these factories open elsewhere; however production did continue at two large breweries located around town: Fleming’s Brewery(founded by James Fleming) & Hinson’s Brewery (founded by Elias Howe). These breweries produced about 60% of local beverage sales not just beer but also whiskey and cider; thus providing employment for many residents during prohibition days! Today there are still some remnants from those days such as Gaelic Athletic Association fields still standing outside Ofcord Arena where basketball games used to take place before moving indoors followingèas FirstEnergy Stadium opened which sadly means no Gaelic Athletic Association games anymore… Though more recently community matches have occasionally been played on Open Field behind Our Lady Of Charity School playground 😉 . However overall business has continued slowly declines since prohibition ended though recent development has brought some new businesses including an Irish pub/restaurant called The availor which will seat up to 150 people inside & operate as both a bar & restaurant ! 🙂 . Despite this slow growth however there have been several big changes taking place lately including plans for high rise housing developments near town center (& lots more coming soon 😉 ); plus another major road widening project set for completion early 2020 making access easier (& cheaper) for shoppers & commuters alike😃

The first residents of Highland Park were Dutch who arrived in the area in 1664. They were followed by English settlers in 1701. The name was given to a tract of land that lay east of the Hackensack River, north of Princeton and west of Easton. In 1814, Highland Park was created as part of a group of towns that became known as the "Crossroads District." It was annexed by Jersey City in 1924.
