Rest assured - there is much to learn about this fascinating history when exploring one of America’s oldest seaside communities! First Contact: As early as 1795, people were living along the Jersey Shoreline. They brewed their own coffee from wild beans found nearshore. The earliest mention of roasted coffee can be found in Philadelphia Gazette on October 30th of that year (Volume IV Issue 8), which reports on a meeting held by the Board of Trade concerning "A New System for Buying Negroes." One commissioner reported back that he had tasted "a very rich black liquid" which he thought must be coffee because he could smell it cooking. It wasn't until 1798 when someone finally named an area around Cape May after Mount Carmel (now called Middle Township) – Ocean City was first mentioned in a deed dating back to April 21st, 1798 filed by John Swanton with reference to land grant #27-1-003 granted to Amos Clarke by George Washington… [during] his stay at Mount Laurel from late November through January 1799... Nearby lay 'the Harbour' or Inner Harbor formed by shoaling waters within two miles wide separating Sandy Hook from Monmouth Island,'[so] it would seem that early settlers knew about both coasts and had access to both harbours!' Meanwhile Back at Mount Laurel: From these initial roots comes the now familiar name Mount Laurel – bestowed upon the location due to its prominence on Hillsborough Avenue during the time period it was being surveyed – during which time residents noted '[t]he highest peak overlooking our harbor.' Over time other names were given including Catoctin Mountain because of its resemblance to an oak tree; Germantown because many Germans settled thereabouts; Pennsylania because part of Pennsylvania was included therein; etc., but they all ultimately reflect howMount Laurel stood out from other towns nearby due to its geology and position! It Wasn't Just Another Coffee Hub: By 1800, many people had started moving into Atlantic County so more space became available for growth within Mt. Laurel borders. However, even though more people moved into the area, not everyone wanted their hands on all the beans! And so certain merchants decided it would make more sense if they pooled their resources and bought specific roasts from different producers rather than trying to maintain control over every bean each individual purchased! This cooperative approach allowed them greater profits while also allowing them greater flexibility in order to meet changing needs! When things heated up with war efforts starting up again in 1812-1813 Fogarty & McClusky got caught up in alligators nesting near Point Pleasant Beach so they put a stop production completely!' This didn't mean That All tasted Bad!: Although production stopped temporarily during foggy days or times things went too wrong with machinery or something just couldn't happen anymore -- various members hauled ass back home right away and set about restarting things like making sure everything ran properly still producing high quality coffees despite any hiccups! The first coffee shop in Ocean City was opened by Abe Beame and his wife,Nina, in 1898. The Beames were the first to import coffee from Honduras. In 1906, they bought a small farm near Carteret and started growing coffee. Abe Beame became the President of the town of Ocean City and founded the Ocean City Coffee Company. The company supplied milk to local grocery stores and served hot coffee all day long. In 1951, the company was sold to National Coffee Corporation which renamed it National Coffee Company-Ocean City. In 1977, National Coffee Corporation merged with Maxwell House Coffee Incorporated to become Maxwell House International Incorporated.
Ocean City, New Jersey is a seaport town located on the Atlantic Ocean, about 20 miles (32 km) east of Philadelphia. As of the 2010 census, its population was 571,691. The town was founded in 1857 by Italian immigrants and became an important port for goods from Canada and Europe.
