In the early 1800s, Palisades Park was a small rural community in New Jersey. The population of Palisades Park was only about 1,000 people. However, by 1827, Palisades Park had become an important center for coffee growing in the area. In that year, a group of farmers and traders founded the first coffee plantation in what is now Palisades Park. They named their coffee farm "The Argyle." Over time, more and more people started to move to Palisades Park from other parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. As the town grew, so did its coffee production. By 1881, the Argyle Coffee Company had become one of the largest coffee companies in America. It still produces high-quality artisan coffee today.
