Small batch coffee history in West New York, New Jersey can go back to the early 1800s. In that time, the area was known for its production of manual (hand-cranked) brewers and roasters. These small businesses would hand-roll their own coffee beans and then sell it directly to consumers.

West New York is a borough in the New Jersey metropolitan area and one of the five boroughs in New York City. It was formed from a merger of three other towns on Long Island: Bayonne, Harrisonburg, and Toms River. The population was 71,521 at the 2010 census, making it the ninth most populous city in the United States. West New York is also home to two of Manhattan's five boroughs – Brooklyn and Queens – as well as Lower Manhattan. The name "West New York" was first applied to what is now East Harlem by Dutch settlers in 1624 who called it "Nieuw Amsterdam". In 1714, English colonists named it after Robert Livingston, who had purchased land grants from the Lenape people east of Manhattan. The town of West Nyack was established about this time but failed because its founder did not have enough money to build roads or fortify himself. In 1811, part of Old Brooklyn including parts of present-day Bayonne, Harrisonburg and Toms River merged with what is now West Nyack to form a new township called North Hudson Township which became part of Bergen County when that county was created in 1847. On March 14, 1875–76, portions of North Hudson Township (including present-day Bayonne) joined with South Hackensack Township (now part of Newark) to create another new township called Morrisania which became part of Kings County when that county was created in 1898. On April 15th, 1908 – just days before Hurricane William struck – parts of Morrisania (along with present-day Elizabethville) merged into what is now Paramus Borough to create another new borough called West New York City which became part of Mayor Rudolph Giuliani's initial territory when he took office on November 5th, 2002. The original boundaries for West Nyack were replaced by those for Paramus Borough upon its establishment as an independent municipality; however some residents still call themselves "West Nyacks" even though they live within Paramus Borough today. As a result many local businesses continue to use both termings interchangeably although there may be some slight distinction among them based on their geographical location within Paramus Borough itself rather than outside it specifically. After World War II saw increasing population growth throughout much Northeast U S., especially around Newark Airport and points southeastward towards Paterson Junction housing developments Riverside Park Estates & Sunrise Terrace developments began being built along Arthur Kill Road between Ridgewood Avenue & Spring Valley Road all across western Hunterdon County beginning in earnest starting around 1950’s until eventually reaching southern Union County map dated 1951 while similar projects going on concurrently also located near Pennington Junction Community College beginning during 1960’s until finally coming full circle back eastward Newtonia Boulevard Community College opened up nearby becoming one such major player developing rapid influxes both male & female students alike during 1970’s especially keyed towards industry/manufacturing jobs primarily situated along Arthur Kill corridor leading directly toward Passaic Valley Industrial Corridor where large container terminals were gradually being constructed over ensuing years culminating by 2007 having reached its current state http://www2australianpolicypedia1australianpolicypedia2westnewyorkcitycomparisonofnewjerseyboroughtags
