In 1909, The Coffee House moved to its current location on Elm Street in Woodbury. In 1935, The Coffee House merged with another cafe named Java Joes to form Java Joe's Gourmet Coffee Company. Java Joe's became one of America's leading gourmet coffee companies for more than 50 years. Java Joe's closed its doors in 1988 but continued to be known for their traditional Italian-style espresso drinks and delicious cookies and pastries.

Woodbury is a town in Mercer County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 6,569 at the 2010 census. The name of the town comes from the woods that surround it. Woodbury was founded in 1798 by General John Forbes and his men on land given to them by Lord Howe. The first settler in the area now known as Woodbury was James Crouse who moved there from Philadelphia in 1798. In 1814, Samuel Morse established himself as a trader and postmaster here and built a trading house that still stands today. In 1821, Woodbury became part of Mercer County when it was formed from parts of Middlesex and Sussex counties. It reached its peak population during the early 1850s with over 10,000 residents. However, this period of growth came to an end afterUnion troops destroyed most of the community's homes during their assault on Princeton on April 9th, 1865. In 1870, Woodbury incorporated as a town under the laws of New Jersey and lost much of its population due to factors such as Prohibition and World War II; however, it regained some popularity following deregulation inthe 1990s. Today, Woodbury has 6500 residents within its borders
The town of Woodbury was founded in 1764 by the brothers John and Peter Gay. The first settler, John Gay, built a cabin on what is now Main Street. America's first post office was established in Woodbury in 1814. In 1847, the town became a borough. In 1867, the borough became an incorporated municipality and in 1912, it united with neighboring East Brunswick to form the current township of Woodbury.
