Coffee is a beverage that has been enjoyed by humans for over 3,000 years. Coffee was first discovered and roasted in the town of Woodland Park, New Jersey on July 4th, 1795. The coffee beans were picked fresh from the forest and brought to the town for roasting. The early coffee farmers in New Jersey grew coffee plants near where they live today. They would ship their beans home in baskets or sacks and would roast them on their fires before enjoying them morning, noon, and night. This type of roasted coffee became known as light roast because it had a milder flavor than dark roast. In 1847, Dutchman Hendrik Brouwer started selling his own brand of coffee called Koffiekleur (meaning "coffee color"). This variety of coffee was grown near where he lived in The Hague, Netherlands. Koffiekleur beans were roasted with sulfur dioxide to give them a bright yellow hue which made them popular among European consumers. In 1868, Brouwer moved his business to Newark, NJ and began selling his dark roast coffee under the name Schroeder's Coffee Company. In 1912, Mr. Max Schroeder decided to sell his company to J & C Roasters Incorporated of Chicago IL for $2 million dollars ($105 million at current value). J & C Roasters continued making Maxwell House Coffee until 1986 when it merged with Peet's Coffee Corporation forming Peet's Coffee Corporation-Maxwell House Coffee Incorporated (PECI) which still manufactures Maxwell House Coffee products today outside of America . PECI also operates three other coffeepot manufacturing plants located in Holland Patent , England United Kingdom West Sussex , Canada . Today PECI owns about 40% of all active world production for ground whole bean coffees . The first coffee was grown in the area now known as Woodland Park, New Jersey, on a small farmstead called Pulaski. The beans were roasted by one of the first roasters in America, John D. Rockefeller's Standard Oil Company. In 1892, Mr. Rockefeller donated land to establish what is now Rutgers University in Newark and opened the school's first coffee shop, which he named "Rockefeller Coffee." In 1914, Dutch Schultz founded Philadelphia-based National Coffee Corporation with his brother Abe Schultz and bought a plot of land near West Chester for $5,000. The brothers began brewing coffee on site and soon developed a large customer base throughout Pennsylvania and Delaware. They opened their first store in Erie County in 1922 and became nationally known for their quality products. In 1929 they merged with American Coffee Corporation to form National Coffee Corporation (NBC). NBC continued to produce high-quality coffee until its merger with Peet's Coffee & Tea in 1984.
Woodland Park is a small town in Sussex County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 5,362 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Newark–Jersey City Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to visit what is now Woodland Park were French traders who landed there in 1624 and explored the area. A Dutch landowning family settled here in 1662 and named their estate "Bentley". In 1716, John Ogden founded a Congregational church here which served as a center for religious services for many years. In 1814, Woodland Park Township was formed from portions of Hamilton Township and other townships within Sussex County. The township's name derives from Germanic word "wald" meaning forest or wooded area. In 1868, section of Hackensack Creek which flowed through Woodland Park into Passaic River were transferred to Freehold Township from Bentley Borough; this event helped make Freehold one of the most heavily populated areas in New Jersey. The population reached 10,000 by 1910 with rapid growth due to waves of immigration from Russia (beginning with the railroads) and eastern Europe (beginning with World War I). During World War II, much of the town was destroyed by bombing raids by American forces during the Battle of Britain; however little damage was done to buildings within the town proper. Today only a few storefronts remain standing from when much of Woodland Park was destroyed in 1943-1945; much more had been lost during that time includinglayout plans for entire downtown block as well as churches and other important civic buildings such as government buildings and schools that still stand today inside what are now apartment buildings located on both sides of State Street between First Avenue South and Constitution Avenue North? During its heyday, Woodland Park had a wide variety of businesses including grocery stores, banks & Trust companies as well as breweries (including Newark's first), theaters (including two major movie theaters), clothing stores (including Sears), restaurants (including 6 Jellied Eels locations), medical clinics (3 Planned Parenthood locations) along with numerous private homes/condos throughout its large commercial district extending eastward into Passaic Valley beyond Interstate 95?

One of the first coffees to be brewed was a blend of both Arabica beans and Robusta beans in 1795 by an Italian scientist, Giovanni Battista Guarini. In 1847, Dutch brewer Hendrik Vergiste created the first black coffee. Black Coffee became popularized in America in the early 1800s when slaves began to purchase goods from American traders at African markets. Some historians believe that black coffee was initially introduced as a way to lower blood sugar levels among slaves because it was thought to help keep them awake during long car rides or marches. Some other theories about its origins include that it was brought over on ships from Africa or that it was developed as an afterthought while trying to create a beverage that would appeal to European capitalists who were interested in importing exotic spices into their countries

Woodland Park, New Jersey is a borough in Camden County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 27,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in what is now Woodland Park was John Stevens in 1814. Stevens and his family bought 1 acre (0.40 km2) of what would become the present-day town from Captain John Denny for $5 per acre (1,600 m²). In 1836, George Washington Platt purchased a 2-acre parcel from Colonel James Pemberton for $10 per acre (3,200 m²). The Platts built a log cabin on their farmstead which still stands today as the first home in the town. In 1855, Judge Augustus Kelley gave land to build a school in what is now Woodland Park. Classes began on October 15th of that year and were continued until May 7th of 1861 due to funding problems with local subscription schools. When it became apparent that there would be no more subscriptions forthcoming, Kelley sold all but one lot back to the township for $500agallion (equivalent to $15 million in 2016 dollars). In 1860–61 an Act of Congress authorized erection of public buildings including a courthouse and jail within Woodlands Park limits – these structures were never completed because of financial difficulties caused by war effort costs associated with constructing fortifications around Philadelphia during the American Civil War. The first post office was established at Woodland Park on December 12th, 1860; named “Harrison” after Ulysses S Grant who had been America’s Secretary of War at this time and also served as President James Buchanan’s Vice Presidential running mate during the presidential election that year; see: Harrison Post Office History website about this important early post office located near what is now PFK Stadium in Camden Township - Harrison's service started soon after he acquired land adjacent to modern day Penn State University! Woodland Park was originally part of the Township of Passaic and was incorporated as a borough on February 14, 1892. On May 7, 1898, it became a city. The population grew rapidly in the early 20th century due to waves of immigrants coming to New Jersey from Eastern Europe. In 1911, the city added an amusement park, which remains one of its largest attractions today.
