The United States Air Force deployed a gift to Depew, New York in 1941. The gift was an airplane, which was named the P-51 Mustang. This airplane is now part of the National Museum of American Military Aviation in DePew, New York. The plane was donated by General Curtis LeMay and delivered to Depew on November 25th, 1941. The P-51 Mustang first flew on December 5th, 1941 and participated in the Pacific War against Japan. On January 2nd, 1945, the plane crashed into terrain near Kobe after hitting a rock while flying over Japan. All five crewmembers died in the crash. The plane has been preserved and is currently on display at the museum.

On Dec. 25, the New York Air National Guard's 5th Airlift Wing deployed a gift to Depew, N.Y., in commemoration of its service members who have served during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. The 1,500-pound jumbo air cargo plane from Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas arrived at Depew Municipal Airport with a gift for every enlisted member of the wing and their families stationed in New York City. The deployment was part of an annual tradition for the 5th Airlift Wing that includes sending a shipment of military supplies and equipment to troops stationed in New York City as well as packages filled with toys and children's clothes to troops on bases throughout America.
Depew was a small town in upstate New York, located on the banks of the Susquehanna River. It is now a ghost town, and only remains as an abandoned village because of its proximity to the new chemical plant that was built there in the 1940s. The first inhabitants of Depew were Native Americans who hunted and gathered wild game near by. In 1682, Dutch Settlers arrived in what is now Depew and began to farm land around present day Depew Lake. The first European settler in present day Depew was Nicholas Muller from Germany who purchased 640 acres (2 km²) of land from the Lenape Indians in 1724. By 1734, all German settlers had been expelled from New Netherland and their lands sold to Englishmen for £10 per acre (3 kg/ha). In 1784, John Dickinson opened a ferry across the Susquehanna River atdepew Landing for transportation goods between Philadelphia and Albany. This allowed goods transported downriver from Albany to Philadelphia to be unloaded at depew Landing without having to go through Newark or Trenton. This made it possible for farmers along the river's edge to sell their product directly to consumers rather than going through middlemen such as traders or merchants. The region became known as "the Delaware Valley." In 1814, when most of western New York State became part of Mexico during the Mexican-American War,Depews residents voted notto secede from New York State but did so instead join Mexico City under General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna. After several years living under Mexican rule, many American citizens returned home during the Civil War due to political reasons and voted against secession. Bicycles have been found throughout depews Village during archaeological excavations dating back to 1800s & 1840s

Depew was a small town in Erie County, New York, United States. The population was 2,541 at the 2010 census. It is now part of the Buffalo, New York Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in Depew was Nicholas Hahn, who arrived in 1795. By 1824, there were three stores and 36 residents. On July 6th of that year, a post office was established at Depew with A.M. Schuyler as the first mail carrier. In 1836, the town had 12 residents and 5 businesses; however it declined in importance over the next few years until 1840 when it had only 7 residents and 3 businesses; again it declined until 1845 when it had only 1 resident and none of its businesses did any business other than to send letters to other towns in Erie County! It wasn't until 1861 that Depew obtained a schoolhouse which became its main source of education for children up to age 16 (later extending to adults as well). In 1870-71 there were 56 residents livingcontently on farms around town but by 1880 only 10 remained including 5 farmers/manufacturers who continued to operate their own farms while also sending students to school; this trend continued until 1924 when all but 4 of those remaining settlers went out of business due primarily to World War I and Prohibition – although one farm managed still produce eggs today! : several buildings from earlyDepew days still stand today - most notably church ( built1836) & hotel ( build1846 ).
Depew was a village in the town of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. It was founded in 1801 by French farmers as part of the concession granted to Peter Ziegler for his work on the falls. The village grew rapidly and by 1825 it had a population of over 100 people. In 1829, Depew amalgamated with the other villages in Niagara Falls to form the new township of Niagara-on-the-Lake.
