USS Midshipman Cook Museum Ship Restoration Project - This item was donated by First Class Petty Officer 3rd Class Ernest J Cook USNR who served aboard HMS Victory under Commander Averill Harriman during WWII before he transferred to HMS Prince Albertus following Victory’s sinking off Leyte Gulf on December 10th 1941 . Sergeant Cook’s donation has helped to restore three decommissioned HM Ships including HMS Echo (AO 191), HMS Donaghadee (DG 710)and HMAS Vampire (AO 237). USS Montgomery County Museum Ship Restoration Project - This item was donated by Rear Admiral Cdr Franklin Wertz USNR who commanded UDT 981 Amphibious Squadron based at NAS Jacksonville Florida during WWII before he transferred to Headquarters NJ Division Pacific Fleet upon their disbanding there in 1945 . He had previous donations made to his former squadron such as USS Pigeon Forge(AG 2113), USS Peacemaker(APD 825),and USS Cowpens(APH 536). His donation has helped to reconstruct four decommissioned amphibious ships including APDs Cowpens(APH 536) & Pigeon Forge(AG 2113), both previously located at NAS Jacksonville Florida; Norfolk Naval Shipyard -This particular donation came about through a partnership between Marine One Helicopter Service Inc.(MHSI)based out of Hampton Roads Virginia Beachand Coastal Defense League which helps maintain Coast Guard helicopters stationed along Hampton Roads Race Track & Ashington Peninsula Missile Range missile range; both organizations have partnered together with Navy Pier Management Group Inc.(NPPGI)to provide visitors with accessto these assets that are part ofNAS Jacksonville Floridas Port District!

Rockville Centre is a town in Nassau County, New York, United States. The population was 34,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Rockville Centre–Easton, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area. In 1814, it became the township of Newtown but was dissolved in 1827 and again in 1831. Rockville Centre was created from portions of Newtown and Southbury on November 1, 1903 by an act of the New York State Legislature following a referendum vote to establish a new borough within Nassau County. The borough's name has been changed multiple times since its creation – most recently to Elmira–Rockville Centre on November 15, 2003. The first settler in what would become Rockville Center arrived in 1795 and built a log cabin on land that today stands at the corner of Main Street and Park Avenue. He named his home "Newtown" after his estate near Niagara Falls – now known as Niagara Falls National Park – but sold the property to settlers in 1800 for $5 per acre (0.266 hectares). By1814, Newtown had grown sufficiently to be incorporated as a town under state control; it had 5 voting members out of 21 residents who voted on election day that year. In 1827, when Newtown became an unincorporated village due to lack of population growth or development within its boundaries (the other villages then existing within Nassau County were Farmingdale and Westchester),rocky Road & Farmington Hills Road were designated as primary streets through Newtown for all residents travelling north/south or east/west from any point within those boundaries; these roads remain so designation still exists today outside of Rockville Centre proper where they are known as Sunrise Highway & Sunrise Boulevard/. However, because this designation only applied to residents travelling north/south or east/west from their homes rather than any points within their borders at that time (!), many villagers shortened their addresses such as RockyRoad&FarmingtonHillsRoad becoming just "Rocky Rd." & "Farmington Hwy." throughout much of rural northeastern Nassau County until roadway numbers began being assigned systematically by county engineers circa 1910-1920 based primarily upon grid reference maps prepared by William Smith Jr., one of several engineering consultants appointed by Governor George Tilden during America’s Centennial Year (1876) which marked “the birth anniversaryof our great country” accordingtohimself In 1903 following passage by the New York State Legislature authorizing establishment of a new borough within Nassau County should there not be enough population growth potential announced for Easton-Latham Township located west of town limits - largely due to factors including attacks on trains along Long Island Railroad tracks crossing Rocky Roads into Easton Town - partitioning ROCKVILLE CENTRE into two parts with each electing 3 Borough Councilmembers - Mayoralty going uncontested between 2 factions led respectively by James Auchincloss (D) & Samuel Jaffe (R); both factions vowing not only peaceful coexistence but also mutual assistance during future emergencies resulting from overpopulation problems plaguing each half however political instability ensued soon after with James Auchincloss becoming Mayor effective April 1 1915 while Sam Jaffe continued holdin office until his death July 20th 1920 leaving open seat for election pending appointment next month pursuant to Borough Election law which required appointmentbyCouncilmember resultantfromfactionconflict notwithstandingAuchincloss appointmen
