The first coffee shop in Rye was opened by Dutch immigrants in 1823. In 1865, Cyrus Koffee, a German immigrant and entrepreneur, opened the first Starbucks in America. In 1916, the first Italian restaurant was opened in Rye. In 1924, rye native John D'Angelo started his own grocery store and roastery called Oak Crest Coffee & Tea Company. He sold coffee beans from his store to other retailers and served single-origin roasted coffee from his farm until he died in 2006. His son Brian D'Angelo continued to operate Oak Crest Coffee & Tea Company until its acquisition by Peet's Coffee Corporation in 2013. Rye is a town in Oneida County, New York, United States. The population was 2,007 at the 2010 census. It is the seat of Oneida County. The name may derive from "rye" (a wild rye grass) or "reddy" (a red dye). Rye is located on the Mohawk River and lies in central New York between Utica and Binghamton. The first Europeans to explore what is now Rye were French traders led by Pierre Dugua de L'Isle in 1614. They named the area after Jameson's Distillery near Edinburgh, Scotland because its founder, Robert Jameson, had brought wine to America in 1607. In 1784, General George Washington stopped at the junction of the Mohawk and Hudson rivers while marching his army through New York State; he called it Hastings Place because General John Hastings had fought against him at Saratoga some years earlier. Captain Philips also stops here on his way upstream from Albany on July 25/26 1785 while exploring along both banks of the river for a landing place for His Majesty's navy on Lake Erie which he proposed to name Lake Ontario after Queen Anne but did not get approval from Congress until October 21st that year! In 1814 two brothers who ran a ferry service over the Iroquois River founded a town called Rye on land they bought from an Indian chief named Susquehanna Rapids. The town began as just a few houses with only about 30 people living there when it became known as one of the most thriving towns in upstate New York due to its location and easy access to markets and transportation options. By 1820 many more buildings had been built including churches and taverns which attracted people from all over upstate New York as well as Canada and Europe. In addition to these public buildings several private residences were erected including three-story frame homes built by Senator Isaac Brockman whose father was also deputy surveyor general for Upstate NY under George Clinton during this time period

Coffee production increased rapidly after World War II as more people became interested in its flavor and health benefits. By the end of the 20th century, coffee had spread to every continent except Antarctica. Today there are over 50 different types of coffees available from around the world.

Rye is a town in Erie County, New York, United States. The population was 4,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Syracuse–Schenectady–Troy Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was first settled by English colonists in 1795. The name "Ryde" had come to be used for both the whole township and one of its two villages: Rye Village on the west side of the river and East Rye on the east side. In 1825, it became a village again with a population of 1,500 people. In 1839, rye production began to increase due to new technology for milling grain that made it possible to process larger quantities at low costs than before. This led to increased prices for goods sold in local shops and businesses as well as increased demand from processors around the country who could now get their rye products directly from farmers in Rye and other nearby townships. In 1861, during American Civil War (1861-1865), many residents leftRYE because there were fears that war would escalate intoa military conflict between North America's majorities over slavery interests in Africa - an issue then still very much alive - and there was little hope that any compromise or peace treaty could be reached without bloodshed or economic ruin for all involved parties involved. A few years later when hostilities ceased rather suddenly (the war being fought largely through guerrilla warfare instead of open battlefields), many Ryedians returned home but some chose not to re-enter society because they had seen too much violence and destruction which they felt seemed like nothing less than Armageddon compared to what they had experienced during their time living abroad."
