Forest Park is a town in Delaware County, Ohio, United States. The population was 5,866 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Columbus metropolitan area. The first European settlers in Forest Park were the Fugit brothers who arrived in 1795 from Pennsylvania. They cleared and sold land for farming and built a cabin on the banks of the Scioto River. One of their descendants, Isaac Fugit, became one of Forest Park's early landowners. In 1824, John Sennett moved to Forest Park from Canada with his family and began to run a mill on the Scioto River. He also established a small grocery store and post office there. In 1827, he erected a two-story frame courthouse which still stands today inside what is now State University's library building on East Broad Street near where it crosses State Route 9 (now I-670). A fire destroyed most of Sennett's mill in 1829 but he rebuilt it using materials brought over by boatload from Great Britain that season during the American Revolution. He continued to operate his business until his death in 1865. During Reconstruction period (1865–1877), many African Americans settled in Forest Park after being released from slavery in Louisville, Kentucky and other nearby states during that time period. A few families formed what was known as "The Golden Age" of black forest park development because they managed to purchase large tracts of land around present day Forest Park and made significant advances within their community including getting an African American school constructed and having its first meeting held on December 6th 1863 before 400 people spectators at Cincinnati Masonic Hall; attending which Rev Solomon Dillard gave an address denouncing Jim Crow Laws prevailing at that time throughout America! This group included future Mayor Samuel Morse Sr.; Drayton Wylie (a free mulatto man born into slavery near Cleveland OH); Julius Gardner; James Fenton; George Washington Goodwin; Willis Browning (of Browning Paper Company fame) ; David Hillman (the son-in-law of Elijah Muhammad ); William Barber II; Vernon Jordan (of Barber Tire fame); Harold Fordham; Thornton Woodsall among others! Additionally some notable citizens such as: Judge Roy Bean who served 3 terms as mayor starting with 1924 until his retirement in 1951 due to ill health then later becoming state supreme court justice under president Franklin D Roosevelt & Woodrow Wilson’s treasury secretary Cordell Hull & many more!

Forest Park, Ohio is a small town in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 1,782 at the 2000 census. It is located in and around Forest Park Township on the southern edge of Warren County. The first people to live here were Native Americans who hunted and collected game in this area for many years before European settlement began. The first white man to come through this area was George Rogers Clark, who traveled down the Scioto River in 1795 looking for a land route to Japan when he met a group of Shawnee Indians hereabouts. In 1803, General David Logan built his famous fortification known as Fort Dearborn near present-day Fort Wayne after defeating American forces at the Battle of Fallen Timbers northwest of present-day Akron. He named it posthumously for his father, Major General James Logan (1756-1825). In 1819, Cincinnati became an incorporated city and Forest Park Township was annexed into Cincinnati; however, Forest Park continued to be part of its rural core until 1890 when it became part of Warren County within Cleveland proper (now Cuyahoga County). This growth came about becauseWarren County had been created from parts of several other counties which had all lost theirisneries due to war or annexation by other countries during the late 19th century: Highland Heights (Louisaville), North Olmsted (Canton), Muskingum ( Lima), Ashtabula (Bay View) and Lorain (Ulysses S Grant Square). Most notably, Cleveland had gained control over much of Indiana Territory following its victory at Tippecanoe Creek in 1812 which included what is now downtown Cleveland along with most of northwestern Ohio including much of Forest Park Township including today's boundaries with Dayton and Mayfield Heights. As more families moved into these rural areas they started developing enterprises such as gristmills, cheese factories etc.; eventually leading to growth in local government that has made Forest Park one of America's oldest townships with a full rangeof services available from township hall through school districts up through county level government functions such as fire prevention and emergency management
Forest Park was first established in 1814 as part of the Scioto Valley Township. The town of Forest Park was incorporated on February 14, 1828. On November 3, 1837, the township and the village were merged into the present-day city of Cleveland. The land around Forest Park was once a vast forest that covered most of northeastern Ohio. As development encroached on the park, much of this natural habitat has been lost to development and agriculture. However, some remnant trees and plants still exist in parts of Forest Park. Today, Forest Park is an important community center for Cleveland with a variety of cultural attractions and businesses located within its boundaries.
