There is a lot of coffee history in Del City, Oklahoma. The city was founded in 1907 by two men named George and W. H. Weiser, who were looking to start a new town in the area. They named the town after their friend and business partner, Colonel John T. Cooke (the namesake of Tulsa). The first cafe in Del City opened its doors in 1911 and served coffee until World War II when it closed its doors due to the war. However, during the war, some people managed to get coffee beans from Europe and started reopened the cafe as a military supplies store. The cafe resumed operations after the war ended and continued serving coffee until 1951 when it closed again due to lack of customers. In 1961, another cafe opened up called The Coffee House which lasted for almost 20 years before closing its doors in 1984 because of financial difficulties. In 2002, an old building that had been used as a storage facility for various businesses around town was converted into a café called "The Coffee House". It has been open since then and continues serving coffee every day except for Saturday when it closes down for lunch instead. Today there are several other cafes that serve coffee within walking distance of each other including: The Dutch Mill Cafe (which serves sandwiches), Blue Moon Café (a popular hangout spot with live music on occasion), COFFEE TIME BOUTIQUE (a local favorite with unique cupcakes/coffee drinks), Peet's Coffee & Tea (an excellent place to buy groceries or eat breakfast), and Starbucks located just across the street from The Coffee House which also offers beverages such as lattes and pastries while still providing seating inside where people can enjoy conversation or read newspapers while enjoying their caffeine fix!

Del City is a small, unincorporated community located in Ottawa County, Oklahoma, USA. The post office was established in 1912 and has been in operation since then. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 413. It is positioned on the border of Canada and Mexico. The area that would become Del City was first settled by Kiowa and Comanche Native Americans in the 1800s. In 1881, Samuel Morse established a post office at what is now Del City after traveling through the area on his survey trip for the Canadian Pacific Railway. The town name originates from an incident that took place near the present-day intersection of U.S. Route 66 and State Road 980 (now US 160). A group of men who were prospecting for oil discovered natural gas while camped near what is now Del City, so they named their new settlement after themselves – Morse City (the men being Samuel Morse, Augustus Custer)". The town started off as just a few buildings on Indian land with a single storey building and no streetlights. By 1915 there were 2 stores, 1 hotel and about 20 residents. By 1922 there were 5 stores, 3 hotels and over 100 residents! By 1930 there were 12 buildings with 2stores each, 4 hotels and 300+ residents! The population exploded due to World War II when many Oklahomans moved south to join the military or to find work during wartime central casting projects like "Oklahoma!", which required people from all over Oklahoma Territory to come down to Hollywood for three weeks every summer to sing cowboy songs on stage! After 1945 many residents left because Del City wasn't annexed into Tulsa until 1907 (!), lack of available housing after WWII caused another explosion in population growth; by 1990 it had reached its peak with around 2000 residents living hereabouts! Today most citizens are retirees or related professionals who commute into Tulsa or Canaday each day - this makes for some pretty vibrant local life!
