Van den Heuvels named his new business van der Heuvel's Coffee House after his friend and mentor. Van der Heuvel's Coffee House was one of the first stores to sell fresh roasted coffeebeans online in 2002. At its peak popularity, van der Heuvel's Coffee House sold over 1 million pounds of fresh roasted beans per year! The first African American to work for the city government in Tulsa was Hosea Cephus in 1911; he served as an election official and street sweeper before coming into management with Streetlight Disposal Company (now NRG Energy) where he ran the company's marketing arm until his retirement in 1978. In 1951 City Councilman Keyte Hill appointed him Municipal Court Judge for District 2 following his successful run for Mayor against incumbent James Denny during November's general election campaign; Hill was re-elected unopposed two years later and served until his death on November 8th, 1957 from a heart attack caused by overwork days earlier that week while presiding over a hearing involving then-Oklahoma Governor Winthrop Rockefeller).
