The Yukon coast guard gift history can be traced back to 1922 when the first coast guard detachment was organized in the territory. The first Coast Guard station was located in Whitehorse, Yukon and it operated out of a small barracks on First Street. The detachment was manned by two officers and eight enlisted men. It patrolled the Arctic coastline and conducted search and rescue missions. In 1938, the detachment moved to its present location at Port Alberni, where it continued to operate out of a small barracks until 1949. In 1969, the provincial government created the Territorial RCMP as a branch of the provincial police service. The RCMP functioned as an auxiliary force for the coast guard. Until 1984, all members of the Yukon coast guard were members of the RCMP. In 1985, responsibility for coastal security was transferred from the RCMP to the territorial government under jurisdiction of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (FOC). As part of this move, FOC assumed primary responsibility for all aspects of coastal security including maritime patrol and patrols along shorelines adjacent to aboriginal landings. Since then, significant changes have occurred within both FOC and Yukon’s coastguard detachments with respect to their Gift History. In 1997-1998 there were major changes within Alaska’s state police department which saw an increase in law enforcement activity along Alaska’s northernmost coastline; this led to a corresponding increase in gifts sent from coastal communities throughout Alaska during that year alone In 2004 new legislation came into effect which changed many aspects associated with Gift History within Canadian Forces Reserve Command (CFRC) - specifically those dealing with entrusted property such as firearms or ammunitions - these were now subject to regulation by Defence Security Activity Canada (DSA) instead of CFRC . This change not only affected Coast Guard Gifts but also those delivered directly between Service Members and their Families residing inside Canada or travelling outside Canadian shores .. 2006 marked another milestone in Coast Guard gift history when Commander John Cockerill announced that all Gifts given between Service members & their Families while stationed ashore within CANADA will now be registered with DSA & credited towards military retirement benefits provided they are still employed by CFRC upon expiration/issuance Of retired status.. This gave rise to much speculation as many Service members had been storing Gifted items cadastraly since before this announcement .... 2007 marked yet another milestone when Commandant Don Armstrong announced that any Gifts given during Chief Petty Officer's functions (CPO's) will now be registered with DSA & credittable towards military retirement benefits provided they are stillemployed by CFRC upon expiration/issuance Of retired status... Again this decision generated much speculation as many Service members had been storing Gifted items cadastraly since before this announcement .... finally in 2009Commandant Don Armstrong announced that any Gifts given during Chief Petty Officer's functions (CPO's) will now be registered with DSA & credittable towards military retirement benefits provided they are stillemployed by CFRC upon expiration/issuance Of retired status... Yukon is a small town in Porter County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 1,853 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tulsa metropolitan area. The community was founded by white settlers in 1907 as a farmstead on the present-day site of Yukon. In 1912, it became an independent municipality and adopted its current name. The population increased to 2,000 by 1920 and 4,000 by 1930. By 1940, the population had reached 8,500 and peaked at 10,000 in 1960. However, due to economic recession and other factors., the population declined until it reached 714 in 2000.
