Central Point, Oregon is a small town located in the Wasatch Mountains of central Utah. The population was 5,471 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. Central Point is known for its coffee and restaurants. The first coffee beans were grown in Central Point by two brothers in 1887. The original Starbucks store opened in 1984 in what is now the downtown core of Central Point. Today, Starbucks has over seventy-five stores throughout the United States and seven locations in Canada. Brewed Coffee Company was founded by John Hargrave in 1898 on East Second Street near South Temple Street in Central Point. In 1912, Brewed Coffee Company merged with Pacific Coffee Company to become Northwest Coffee Corporation, which became Northwest Brewing Corporation when it merged with Ruby Tuesday Brewing Co., Incorporated on October 1, 1972. On January 1, 1984, Starbucks announced that they would be opening their first store within walking distance of their original location on North First Avenue (now called State Street) across from Pioneer Hall Gymnasiums and adjacent to BYU's McCawley School of Business Administration Building (now known as Marriott Center). In 2007-2008 Starbucks invested $10 million into new coffee bean production facilities including an Xpress roast bar process technology line that allows for faster roasting than older manual methods and a new bean mill that produces higher quality grade beans at a lower cost than previous equipment models resulting in increased growth rates for both company and product lines; this investment led to increased sales volume and net income (+$1 million) for fiscal year 2008 compared to fiscal year 2007 while expanding product range beyond espresso to provideius items such as juices and smoothies as well as salads and tacos

The area that would become Central Point was first settled by the Klamath people in the late 1800s. In 1851, Central Point became part of the new state of Oregon following its creation from parts of California and Nevada. As time passed, Central Point grew slowly but steadily, becoming an important hub for commerce and culture in what was then a remote corner of Northwestern Oregon. In 1908, as part of a larger effort to make central Oregon more developed, the State Legislature designated Central Point as the seat for what would be known as The Dalles County Circuit Court. At that time it was one of only two towns in The Dalles County; other residents were Daylesford and Old Town Junction. Through hard work and dedication over many years by many individuals - both local and statewide - central Oregon has seen great strides forward. Today, this vibrant community is home to some of the most advanced technology available on either side of the Rockies; education institutions such as Portland State University (PSU)and Multnomah Community College (MCC), with their associated industries; jobs that span all walks of life; recreational opportunities abound; while still maintaining its rural feel complete with farms, churches, schools and lakeside homes – giving CentralPoint residents plenty to keep them busy during those quiet hours when they don’t have anything else to do!

Central Point was founded in 1863 by the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The town was named after the point of land at which they landed on July 24, 1805. The land that now makes up Central Point was surveyed in 1847 and erected as a post-office in 1850. In 1957, Central Point became a city. The Lewis and Clark Expedition were a group of American explorers led by Ulysses S. Grant who traveled through central Oregon during their trip from September 1846 to May 1849. Their journey is remembered for their exploration of the Oregon Trail and fortheir discovery of the Columbia River. While westerly parts of Oregon were explored by Spanish adventurers before Grants expedition, only about 10% of what is now Oregon was mapped out by Americans until ensuite by Manifest Destiny theorists such as Douglas Hyde who argued that America should control all western lands because it could do so with technological advancements like railroads. After arriving at Fort Hall on November 5, 1847, the Lewis and Clark Expedition set out on an arduous march across Wyoming Valley to cross the Rocky Mountains into Idaho Territory. They eventually reached Centralia October 22, 1848—the first permanent agency west of the Rockies—and spent three weeks here before continuing their journey southward along what is now Route 66 towards Salt Lake City or Sacramento respectively. On October 30 they arrived near present-day Lewiston (then Lewistown) and camped for two days before moving forward under cover of night onNovember 2Oclock suffering some very heavy losses including 15 men killed outright when their small party struck a mine while followingCache Creek south from its source to meet Cache National Forest). After two more days’ travel they reached Cedar Grove Junction where they turned northwest onto prairie dogskillet road leading toward Weber’s Summit (today’s Boise), but soon realized that this route would take them too close to Independence Rock whereupon they turned back again early December 1st having covered 40 miles over difficult terrain with little rest or food; one man lost his life[1]. This severe disappointment forced Grant to turn back northeast again eight miles short of Weber’s Summit after covering just 26 miles in seven days insteadof reaching his original goal [2], thus inaugurating what would become known as “The Great Sioux Campaign” which lasted six months starting late November.[3] In addition to commemorating these seminal explorations within our own community, commemoration events have been held throughout Portland annually since 2001 honoring those associated with both expeditions: The Lewis & Clark Museum has an exhibit called “American Discovery: Ulysses S Grant'sLewis &Clark Expedition” open every Saturday from 9am-4pm; there are also several crawfish boils hosted each year at various locations around town; there are also numerous Pioneer Days events throughout the year including parade, apple picking/trees etc.; Central Point Library presents a series called "Oregon Pioneers" monthly which features oral history interviews with people who lived or worked in early CentralPoint during this time period

In 1855, Central Point became the first town in Oregon when it was established at the junction of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers. The city's name comes from its location at the center of an important point on both rivers. By 1870, social unrest had arisen around thetown due to lack of jobs, high prices for goods, and increasing crime. A group of entrepreneurs organized a movement to create a municipal government that would provide better services and reduce inequality. The new government was successful in creating a strong economy and building public infrastructure. However, tensions still lingered between townspeople and their government officials. Central Point experienced significant growth during its period as an American city; however, it also faced difficult challenges such as rapid inflationary rates during World War I and increased pollution from industries in the postwar period. Despite these challenges, Central Point continued to thrive over the years until it lost its status as an American city in 1970.
