The Newberg Coast Guard Station was first established in 1917 when the town of Newberg was re-incorporated. The station was moved to its current location on the present day waterfront in 1954. The station has been responsible for keeping the community safe and secure since then. One of the most important aspects of the coast guard function is their responsibility to maintain law and order on our coastline. In addition, they provide emergency services during weather emergencies and are also responsible for educating citizens about coastal safety. Some of the unique items that have been donated to the station over time include a life jacket, flare machine, buoyancy compensating device, Lifejackets II Red and Blue, First Aid Kit, flares, ice skis and more!

Newberg, Oregon is a small town located in the Cascade Range of western Oregon. The population was 2,644 at the 2010 census and is growing rapidly. Newberg has been named one of "Portland's Top 10 Neighborhoods" by Portland Monthly magazine, and it is home to many high-tech companies and startups. The city also features a wide variety of businesses and cultural attractions, including a performing arts center, anthems sung every Sunday morning in local churches, and world-renowned museums like the Willamette Valley Museum of Art. Newberg began as a cattle ranching community in 1868. In 1902, John A. Neuman opened the first store in Newberg, which became the nucleus of what would become the town's commercial district. By 1915, Newberg had developed into a small but thriving community with several banks, four restaurants/bars/nightlife venues, two schools (one high school and one middle school), three homes for sale per month on average, two churches (one Lutheran and one Methodist), two doctors (one an osteopath and one an endocrinologist), two grocery stores (two Chinese takeout places called Hungry HorseChinese Expressand One Stop News where you could buy all kinds of groceries) and five business properties downtown. The current incarnation of Newberg began to form around 1984 when Donny Schmidt bought land north of town from his father-in-law for $1 million dollars It took until 1990 before Schmidt started construction on his dream home - a luxurious compound surrounded by twelve hectares (~30 acres) of forested land complete with ponds/lakes/wildflowers that spanned 5 km² (~2 miles²). Schmidt's home still stands today as one of Portland’s most prestigious addresses; it overlooks downtown from its own private garden overlooking Interstate 5A As Portland’s rapid growth continued over the next few decades there were demands for more space – so much so that some property owners banded together to create what would become known as “The Hill District” adjacent to Downtown This development saw new office towers built next to old manufacturing buildings while also creating significant amounts of density along NE 41st Avenue which led to increased traffic congestion . Despite this growth pressure some residents were quick to sell off their properties or build new homes within minutes or hours after being contacted about selling . In order for developers not pushing housing further away from shopping centers or other conveniences primary transportation options such as public transportation were desired . So multiple TODO cards emerged addressing everything from getting more buses into town during off peak hours (specifically between 9pm-6am) through improving sidewalks & bike lanes connecting neighborhoods east & west side ; eventually buses are routed down NE 31st Ave instead which allows people living east side & south side access without having their houses interfere
