In 1952, NBC merged with two other major American coffee companies— American Caravanist Coffee Co., which owned Caravan Café restaurants throughout America and Canada; and The brewing company that stood for more than 200 years: Samuel Adams Brewing Company (SAM). At this point, NBC became part of SAM & Associates holding company which then sold its assets to Peet’s Tea Group Holdings LLC for $1 billion on November 1st 2016 .
