On October 5, 1971, founder and owner Dick Foley opened the Blue Bottle Café at 7200 Springdale Parkway in Conway. The café served pre-packaged coffee from local roasters. The Blue Bottle was one of the first cafes to offer drip coffee. Dick Foley offered two types of drip coffee: classic and chocolate chip. The Classic Coffee was made with beans that had been roasted for 12 hours, while the Chocolate Chip Coffee was made with beans that had been roasted for 18 hours or more. Dick Foley also started selling single origin coffees from his own farm in Conway. These Coffees were sourced from premium roasters such as Gevalia, Robusta, and Hario Kodaoka. In 1982, Dick Foley retired from business but continued to serve food at his café until 1984 when he sold it to his son-in-law Rick Moody who renamed it The Moody Cafe. In 1990 Rick Moody sold the cafe to Kenneth "Kenny" Pemberton who kept it open until 2006 when he closed it down due to health concerns. In 2007, entrepreneur Donny Griggs purchased Kenny Pemberton's cafe and reopened it as The Conway Coffee House which still serves up classic drip coffee today as well as many other flavors including pumpkin spice Latte artichoke dip & lavender tingle salad!

When Confederate forces occupied that base during the Civil War, many Creek IndianWindows were burned as souvenirs by Union forces seeking revenge for earlier losses to the Confederacy The Battle of Honey Hill occurred near present day Roundabout Road and Highway 529 about one mile east of today's Old Town community on November 3rd 1861 when Confederate skirmishers attacked Union troops under Brigadier General Elijah Denny leading an attack up Honey Hill Swamp against light infantry units commanded by Major General George Pickett (later Lieutenant Governor of Georgia) with some artillery fire support; Confederate casualties numbered around 100 killed or wounded with possibly even more captured including Captain John Suggs (one time Commandant of Charleston Navy Yard), but this battle has been estimated at only 10-15% fatalities among actual soldiers killed/wounded rather than 300%. As batteries opened up again to return fire regimental command ordered Pickett’s men back down Honey Hill Swamp never to have seen them again; since these engagements took place very close together it has been suggested they may have been coordinated through scouts operating atop cliffs nearby which overlooked both areas providing excellent artillery observation from high ground
