The United States Air Force's gift history in Huron, South Dakota goes back to World War II. The first airplanes were delivered here in 1945 by the largest bomber manufacturer in the world, Boeing. The air force has roared ever since with its historical aircraft and munitions programs. Today, the USAF operates over 350 bases worldwide with a total of more than 58,000 personnel. In Huron, they maintain an active hangar and storage facility used for storage of various aircraft and munitions programs as well as other aviation-related items. During the Cold War, the USAF bought many surplus Russian planes in order to operate them here within our own country; however Russia closed down this program after 1991. Consequently much of thisRussian equipment remains parked at AFB Huron and is not available for use by American pilots or aircrews currently flying missions across enemy lines. Today much of what was once Russian military hardware remains parked at AFB Huron including fighter jets such as F-15 Eagle and Sukhoi Su-27 Flanker fighters; bombers such as B-52 Stratofortress, C-130 Hercules, KC-135 Stratotanker; missiles such as Tomahawk cruise missiles and AGM-114 Hellfire projectiles; vehicles such as Humvees and Bell 412H helicopters; etc. What is left operational on site today is a living museum that tells the story of how these aging assets have been used during different wars throughout history - from Operation Iraqi Freedom against Saddam Hussein's regime to Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom!

On July 5, 2019, the Huron Community Foundation unveiled its new gift history program. The initiative allows donors to share their memories of giving to the foundation and help others learn about the various types and amounts of donations that have been made over the years. The program is designed to help people understand how airforce gift history has helpedHuron community members achieve their goals. It also provides a snapshot of what type of donation has been given and how it has impacted different areas of Huron.
The Huron people are a Native American Tribe located in South Dakota. They have inhabited this area for over two hundred years and their culture is associated with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe has tried to stop the construction of the Bakken Pipeline, which will run under their land. They have also filed a lawsuit against the company. The Huron people were first encountered by Europeans in 1640 when they were traveling through what is now South Dakota on their way to trade goods with the French. The French named them after a river in Ontario, Canada called the Haut Rôle. In 1797, Treaty of Fort Laramie was signed between France and the United States setting up boundaries between these two countries. The Huron people were not part of this treaty and continued to live within Indian Territory until 1881 when they were forced out by President James K. Polk into what is now North Dakota. In 1865, General Miles Order #2 was issued which ordered all Native Americans living within 10 miles of Fort Randall to leave or face destruction from military forces led by General Custer. This order caused many deaths as many Indians attempted to flee without being captured or killed. The survivors turned back at Fort Randall and marched south towards Council Bluffs where they surrendered on July 20th, 1865 under very difficult circumstances including walking 100 miles day and night without food or water! Aftermath of Battle at Ft Randall: Because there had been no prior warning that such an large force would be assembled near Ft Randall, few if any Indians came prepared for battle; consequently, much blood was spilt before either side could form its line; furthermore great confusion resulted because there was almost total lack of artillery (only 3 pieces) and ammunition available for both armies
When the United States Air Force was founded in 1947, it had a small but formidable fighter force. The USAF needed a way to celebrate its first anniversary and provide members of the public with an appreciation for what they were doing. They decided to gift some of their most advanced jets and aircraft to local airfields as part of this celebration. There has been much discussion about what these aircraft might have been used for, or where they would have ended up if not given away as gifts. However, one thing is for sure- these planes gave the USAF a lot of legroom and allowed them to fly higher than ever before.

Huron is a small town in south Dakota, United States. It was founded in 1884 by Danish immigrants, and it is the oldest continuously inhabited community in south Dakota. The town has a population of about 350 residents. The early settlers of Huron were farmers and loggers. They built their first homes between 1884 and 1886, when the land that now makes up Huron was still part of the Sioux Nation. In 1889, a group of Swedes settled in Huron as well, and they soon started farming too. By 1912, the majority of the town's residents were Danish Americans. In 1929, the school district merged with another one in South Dakota to form South Dakota State University District No. 2; however, on July 1st of that year, Huron began to operate as its own school district. In 1970, South Dakota State University District No. 2 disbanded and all of its constituent schools became part of South Dakota State University District No. 1; however, on November 1st of that year all but two buildings from districts 2-1 were destroyed by fire during an overnight outage at South Dakota State University - this left Huron as the only community in south Dakota without any educational institutions (the exception being North Hennepin County Community College). In 1990-1991 some damage was done to buildings withinDistrict 2-1 which had been destroyed by fire years earlier during outages atSouthDakotaStateUniversity; nonetheless repair/restoration occurred over several summers thereafter culminating with new construction &anosofthecommunityin2005 which increasedhuronspiritual connectiontotheland&enhancedurichthousenessoflifeamongsthisResidents This document attempts to provide an overview for those who are not familiar with south dakota history & culture so as not overwhelm readers who may be interested in learning more about this unique community
