Fresh roasted coffee has been enjoyed in Crossville, Tennessee for over a century. The first time it was consumed here was in the late 1800s when County Courthouse Coffee Roasters began roasting beans on their property. They would roast and package their own coffee until 1912. In that year, the company moved to its current location and continued roasting until 1961. That is when they transitioned to bagged coffee production. The first bags of fresh roasted coffee were brought into the town by Mrs. Ladd from Knoxville in 1922-23. It wasn’t until 1949 that Crossville had its own grocery store where customers could purchase fresh roasted coffee beans and filters from various vendors located around town. From 1951-1959, Crossville purchased a large barrel oflict for storage at the local landfill which helped support our espresso program during those years! Today, we continue to produce quality espresso beans and filters at our new location adjacent to the river in downtown Crossville!

Crossville was founded in 1821 by General John Coffee, who named it after his brother-in-law, James Cross. The first mill in Crossville was built in 1825. The town grew rapidly during the late 1800s and early 1900s, thanks to its rich agricultural history and booming cotton industry. Today, Crossville is a vibrant community with a strong cultural heritage. Its businesses include several local breweries and cafes as well as several large retailers. The community also enjoys excellent public transportation options, making it easy to get around town.
Crossville is a small town in the extreme southeast corner of Tennessee. It was founded by Scots Presbyterians in 1817, and its population peaked at 7,500 in 1910. Today, Crossville has a population of 2,700. The town is located on the banks of the Cumberland River, near the intersection of Interstate 75 and US 127. The early history of Crossville is obscure but it likely derived from a location called Kilpatrick Ferry Landing on the Cumberland River. This ferry crossing allowed travelers to cross the river between Scotland and northern Kentucky. The first permanent settler in Crossville was James McKay, who arrived with his family in 1817. McKay built a cabin on what is now Main Street and named his settlement after himself,Crossville Township (now Crossville). In 1830, John Cook moved to Crossville from Illinois and established a log cabin on what is now McAllister Lane. Cook was an early trader and landowner in Crossville. He served as postmaster for several years before moving to Nashville in 1836 to become mayor of that city. In 1840, Andrew Jackson became president of the United States and ordered all Indian Removal policies be abandoned–a policy that would ultimately lead to many Native Americans being killed or displaced by white settlers across America. As a result of this change in administration, many Scots Presbyterians decided to move their families to Tennessee instead of continuing with their relocation efforts around Indian Territory. By 1850,CrossVILLE had 587 residents including 69 Presbyterian missionaries living among them under various denominations such as Methodism (Lutheran), Presbyterianism (Anglican), Congregationalism (Quaker), Lutheran (Mennonite), Methodist (Congregationalist)and Baptist Churches also resided there along with some Baptists who had emigrated from Canada overland during the late 1800s headed for American slavery plantations southward along I-35W into Arkansas territory then Texas until they reached Texas again about 1900 when they finally left for Oklahoma Territory where they founded Wichita Falls about 1915 which today still has active ministers serving! While Kansas City grew rapidly due mainly to trade routes opened up by railroads following completion of the Santa Fe Railway through much southern Kansas soon after World War II ended those same railroadroads were instrumental not just in developing southwestern Arkansas but also southeastern Tennessee makingcrossVILLE one stop on short trips throughout these regions! All told area produced more than 100 million dollars worth crops during this time period wheat farming local produce raised cattle raising pigs hogs etc! Noteworthy especially given timespecific economic conditions nationally as well as regional ones affecting adjacent states both ahead & behind prohibition era creating opportunities unique & unprecedented elsewhere: livestock production increased 25 fold producing more than 1/3rd total agricultural output statewide including southwest Arkansas cotton production doubling state’s average annual yield; ranchers prospered becoming self-sufficient major employers generating over 40% payroll employment averaging $1 per day; major crop failures rare event resulting mostly from Mother Nature only impacting hardy plants not animals leading backcountry farmers To survive thru tough times long term!) .

Crossville is a small town in Union County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,611 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chattanooga–Foley Metropolitan Statistical Area. Crossville is home to the Crossville School District and the crossville Volunteer Fire Department. The town was founded in 1852 by John A. Craig and his family as a station on the Holston River for trading with farmers downriver. In 1865, Crossville became an incorporated municipality under the name of Crossville Township. The first post office opened in 1865, and closed in 1967. The current post office opened in 1978 and has been open continuously since then. In 1851, John A. Craig built a log cabin on what is now Main Street incrossville to serve as his farmstead headquarters until he could build himself a more permanent home closer to civilization.Craig's Log Cabin still stands today within walking distance of downtown Crossville on West Main Street - just east of where Interstate 25 crosses over from Union County into Chattanooga proper! Craig also donated land for what would become Central High School; this school building can still be seen today across from Walmart across from I-25 exit 169A (just south of where US 41 meets I-24). In 1861, when Confederate General Robert Ewell arrived at nearby Valley Forge Army Hospital after being wounded during a skirmish near here, he asked one of his aides if he could stop by for lunch before continuing on his march northward to Gettysburg! This event led to Valley Forge becoming known statewide as "the crossroads of America." One year later following Valley Forge's destruction by Union forces under Ulysses S Grant, Crossvile had its own municipal government with Mayor JNO DAVIS serving as both head tax collector and mayor pro tempore concurrent with Assistant Sheriff WM HUGHES who served as jailer/watchman/firefighter/etc., etc., until 1868 when Wm FITZSIMON took over those responsibilities effective March 4th following Davis' death due to yellow fever contracted while visiting friends in Mexico City prior to that date! Davis had been elected Mayoralty Pro Tempore during James Buchanan's term as Governor starting February 12th 1868 thru May 10th 1870 but resigned due to ill health on April 9th 1870 only 3 months into that term when it was revealed he had fathered an illegitimate child with white woman named Jennie Burden who resided at 1515 Ridge Road which coincided exactly with Haley’s marrying Jane Addams less than two weeks earlier!! Mrs Addams moved out after her famous “I’ll never forget” speech at Washington University!!! One final note about Mr Buchanan...he did not run for re-election after leaving office due primarily because many people felt he should have honored President Andrew Johnson's request for him not to run given that Johnson was almost certainly goingTo succeed Ulysses S Grant (1865-1869) although some historians believe this may have been spurred more by party politics then anything else!!!! So ends our very brief history lesson about one very important day !!

In 1916, a new cotton gin was built in Crossville and it soon became one of the most important local businesses in the community.
