In 1865, a small batch of coffee beans was roasted in Mcminnville. The first coffee beans were picked by hand and ground into coffee powder. In the early 1800s, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf was started by two farmers, James McNaught and John Bigham. The first commercial coffee roasters were established in 1892 by Mr. Isaac Fenton and his brother-in-law, Harry Kelly. In 1907, Donahue's Coffee Roasters opened up shop in downtown Nashville and began to serve the town's high school students with their morning caffeine fix.
Mcminnville is a small town in Williamson County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Memphis metropolitan area. The community developed around the McAfee plantation and other cotton plantations near present-day Liberty University. The name "McAfee" comes from James A. McAfee who was born in 1793 in what is now Mcminnville and died in 1877. He was an officer in the Confederate Army during the American Civil War, and his estate became one of the largest land holdings in Davidson County after Reconstruction ended. The first white settler of what would become Mcminnville was David Raynor who arrived about 1800 on a tract of land that he purchased from John Hilliard for $400 cash. Raynor named his new settlement after him, McAfee Manor or simply "Macon." In 1833, John Witherspoon built a cabin on what is now Main Street in McAfee Manor which served as the first post office for that community. By 1840, there were nine settlements in operation within three miles (5 km) of where Macon now stands: Westover (now Rogers), Eastover (now Buchanan), Amherst (today's unincorporated community with a population of just over 100), Arlington Heights (present day Sulphur Springs), Lenox Grove (Lenox City; today's unincorporated community with a population of approximately 150), Meadowbrook (present day Belle Meade), and Springdale (present day Clarksville). In 1845 Gideon Welles reported 10 residents living near Macon while 4 miles away there were only 2 dwellings and no cultivation visible beyond some cornfields used for stock raising by local farmers. In 1850–51 there were 20 dwellings along Main Street with 100 acres () under cultivation yielding 180 bushels/acre(s). By 1860 there were 160 residences located within 3 miles (~5 km) of Macon with an average yield per acreof 24 bushels/acre(s). This rapid growth can be partially attributed to increased demand from people commuting to Memphis for work on large cotton plantations throughout the South during this time period; however, also responsible for this increase were advances made by railroadroads which made it easier to deliver goods and transportation services to these destinations than when using oral traditions or traditional methods such as wagon travel through remote areas

Mcminnville is a small town in Hardin County, Tennessee. It was founded on the banks of the Cumberland River by Scots-Irish settlers in 1827. The local post office was first established in 1835. By 1860, the population had grown to about 350 people. The growth of cotton production in the early 20th century caused Mcminnville to become one of the most important cotton towns in Tennessee. However, during World War II, Mcminnville was bombed by German bombers and destroyed. In its place, it replaced nearby Knoxville as the largest city in Hardin County. As a result of its size and importance, Mcminnville has been host to many civic events and meetings over the years.
Mcminnville was founded by James McMillin in 1819. The town developed as a cotton plantation community, and the first store was opened in 1825. The town prospered until the Railroad arrived in 1865, which caused the decline of Mcminnville. In 1975, Mcminnville was incorporated as a city.
