The Marine Museum in Conroe, Texas, has a rich history of marine gift giving. The museum was founded in 1919 as the Houston branch of the American Red Cross. In 1951, it became the Houston branch of the United States Marine Corps Museum. On October 6, 1978, it merged with the Houston Maritime Museum to form the present day Marine Museum in Conroe.
